I think MDAnderson got it: https://www.movieinsider.com/m14856/a-vigilante
"A once abused woman, Sadie (Olivia Wilde), devotes herself to ridding victims of their domestic abusers while hunting down the husband she must kill to truly be free."
After the 2016 election Olivia Wilde was so upset she and Melania had the same hair style. Throughout social media and the web trolls replaced her pic with Melania's. ππππ
A vigilante chick flick? Well, no gay blades would get wood from a woman killing men because they don't give a shit for women's safety. True, indeed, as gay men* don't really have that territorial protector switch. (Some few do, but they have likely donated to a lesbian womb and developed some empathy for mothers) No gay guys: That’s a huge slice off the red carpet right there. Then there are the men in Hollywood who do rape/audition women and who would understandably be a bit hesitant to sit and watch a movie where their kind get their just desserts. That pretty much rules out everyone save a few lesbians who went clamming because of rape trauma from daddy. I suspect that narrow category is too fucked up to be in positions of power and therefore there were no big wigs to attend. Simple math, really. (Jodie Foster did a vigilante movie years ago. I’m guessing from the womb dykes don’t get off on shoot ‘em ups- could be wrong on that) *I need to be clear here. Young gays do have empathy for the world because they are the grandsons of Stonewall and haven’t had to do the closet/suicide thing like their grandfathers in gay. That is a thing. Bitter old queens hate themselves first, and everyone else after. Some of these old queers literally see women as chalk outlines. They do discriminate against women. I have lived in this morass of double standards from both side of the trench for years. Political Correctness does need periodic correcting. Abe Simpson.
@Derp and Little Miss Sunshine - Over here in the U.K is a brand of port called Cockburn. It is pronounced 'coburn' as in the actor James Coburn. So it might be the same with her name.
The movie is so small, she doesn't get any late night talk show bookings. It was made in 2017, premiered in SXSW over a year ago, and took almost a year to pick up by Saban Films ad Direct TV... Also she is the only household name in it. The director & writer is a first timer too. No wonder nobody was there Which is a shame because every review I read RAVING about her performance in it. The only person who I would've except to show up to support her is Sudeikis but I guess he had work to do. (They show up to support each other regularly lately. so I think he was just busy.)
@Mozart & Brayson87 - She has so bad luck finding good scripts, and when she do, very few people watching that. She was amazing i Drinking Buddies and Meadowland, but very few people saw her in those films. I think she is getting better and better as an actress (see all the reviews of her performance in a Vigilante), but only does will this recognize who paying close attention to her career.
@Randaleese If Booksmart in May will live up to it's hype at the box office, her downfall will end in New York minute.
And looks like Enty count her as A- because of the upcoming possible success of Booksmart. I telling you ot will be a crticial (That's 100%) and most likely finicial hit (it has the buzz already, also the film's trailer is played before 'Us' now).

ReplyDeleteI liked Olivia Wilde in Tron: Legacy, but beyond that she hasn't made much of an impression.
