Yesterday afternoon, this CEO announced changes which would result in thousands of workers losing their jobs. At the time, the CEO was not at his company's offices. He was at his mansion a few hundred miles away. He wouldn't even tell the press how many workers were being affected. The guy just doesn't care about people.
Musk
ReplyDeleteOr maybe not? That other one maybe in the news a lot
DeleteTesla just went online purchases only, and are closing down all stores. Layoffs included

DeleteWalmart?
ReplyDeleteyeah its walmart
ReplyDeleteYesterday Elon Musk announced they are closing all dealerships and doing online only sales model to help reduce the price of all their cars, as well as announcing a $35k base model Tesla 3.
ReplyDeleteThis is a common practice for many CEOs.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it’s Musk announcing yesterday that it would focus on online sales as a brush over for the fact that the Model 3 was more difficult to produce than originally expected. Or... what EddyWouldRide said. :)
ReplyDeleteso it's both. big corporations don't care about people. PERIOD. in fact, they're phasing out people altogether.
ReplyDeleteI thought Musk said he was going to be focusing on that awhile ago.
ReplyDeleteWhen you leave Elon in the car, don’t forget to turn on “Dog Mode”.

ReplyDeleteI bought my last car online. FAR FAR FAR FAR better experience than dealership HORSESH^T. I've bought many cars at dealerships. So that I became brutal at it but I hated it. It's a truly effed experience. Last time I got my daughters Mazda (she paid for) at an amazing price and payments and financed through our credit union at 2 something percent with gap insurance for $400. I had to say NO to the same questions 200 times and play hardball to get the payment she wanted $220 a month. SAY YES TO ONLINE CAR PURCHASES
ReplyDeleteMUSK
ReplyDeleteOh like a Carvana setup. Closing Tesla dealerships isn't totally crazy given all the shady laws that prevent car companies from operating their own dealerships. I wonder about test drives though.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Amazon? They're evacuating their Seattle building because they won't get tax cuts...so, Bezos??
ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of bobby kotick of Activison/blizzad the video game company that posted record profits the same day they anounced nearly a thousand job losses. This is what modern CEO's do. Sociopathic motherf***ers.
ReplyDeleteThe Gap CEO?
ReplyDeleteThis is Tesla, not GAP. The GAP announcement is a typical corporate restructuring that they've been hinting at in past filings and they usually offer any laid-off employees the chance to transfer and/or relocate. The Tesla announcement seemed sloppy and doing it at the same time as the release of the $35k version of Model 3 is suspicious.
ReplyDeleteTake your pick...but we do know that Enty has a special thing for Musk.
ReplyDelete@Sal T, How long do you think Enty has been waiting for his Tesla order to be delivered? ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd here is the memo that an adult drafted for Elon:

I thought it was Walmart getting rid of all the greeter positions? Amazon isn't moving from Seattle. I know many friends who work downtown at HQ and there's nothing about them leaving Seattle. They pulled out of doing the New York HQ because of tax stuff in NY but I haven't heard zip about Amazon and that would make big news around here.
ReplyDeleteIf only everyone cared as much 'about the people' as 'democrat' Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez...
ReplyDeleteI thought you had to have actual stores to sell cars too? I know you can online but I thought brand specific had too. Yes, I have purchased a car online.
