Regina King and Glenn Close should win. I think 2 from one movie cancels them out so even if Emma and Rachel were better it costs them.
ReplyDeleteI have seen none of these movies lol
ReplyDeleteThis year is Olivia Colman's and Christian Bale's to win, so obvious choice for Best Actress there.
ReplyDeleteSupporting is tougher but I'd say it's between Amy and Rachel, but I'll go with Weisz.
Melissa McCarthy was good in her film, but not exceptional. Gaga was just OK during the acting segments of her film.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a race between Glenn Close and Olivia Colman for the Best Actress win. Yalitza is not going to beat Glenn Close.
Only movie I saw was ASIB. Going for Regina King and Glenn Close. Regina was so good in Southland.
ReplyDeleteBest actress - Glenn Close.
ReplyDeleteBest supporting actress - Rachel Weisz.
King and Colman.
ReplyDeleteClose & Stone are who should win.
ReplyDeleteI think Regina has a lot of fans, and I agree with Sandy that Stone and Weisz will cancel each other out.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen this particular performance of Regina's, but I have not heard good things about the movie in general.
Best Supporting Actress:
ReplyDeleteRegina King
Best Actress:
Lady Gaga
Check out Regina King in Seven Seconds on Netflix.
ReplyDeleteFreaking amazing.
Amy Adam's
ReplyDeleteOlivia Coleman
Stefani Germanotta is not a good actress. You read here how many takes it took to make ASIB, and that the editing was a nightmare. She is a great singer, but an actress she is not. Based on past performances, I think Ms. Close should win, and Ms. King should win. I haven't seen Roma, and that probably would sway my opinion towards the two actresses nominated for it. Too many singers think they can cross over to acting, and vice-versa (Madonna). It just doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t see Roma so I have to eliminate those two nominations.
ReplyDeleteSupporting I think Amy but Regina will win.
Best Olivia and it’s going to be a tight race between her and Glenn. Melissa is my second choice after Olivia. Gaga didn’t do an award winning performance at all.
The three from the Favourite!
ReplyDeleteClose will win - more of a culmination of her work/prior noms than just The Wife. Olivia Colman was great though.
ReplyDeleteGonna guess Regina King - Emma got hers and will cancel out Weisz, but they were both great in The Favourite.
Glenn Close is deserving of an Oscar for so many reasons - thank God she will finally take one home this weekend.
ReplyDeleteAnd who would ever have believed that Brenda Jenkins would one day be an Oscar winner?

ReplyDeletewell, that's not what many "critics" are saying. additionally, she was freaking amazing in AHS: Hotel
and if she was so horrible, why did she get nominated for an "acting" Oscar? could have just left it at Best Song.
Gaga will win for Best Song as consolation prize for Glenn finally getting her statue.
ReplyDeleteNOT Gaga. Colman and Amy Adams
ReplyDeleteEmma Stone/Glenn Close
ReplyDeleteThe Oscars are known, in my opinion, for rewarding people who have paid their dues and waited. We saw Leonardo DiCaprio finally win an Oscar for The Revenant, although many would argue that any one of the works he had been previously nominated for an Oscar was better.
ReplyDeleteThe same will happen with Glenn Close. She's a phenomenal actress-- even if it's not her best or the year's best, the Academy will reward her.
Regina King will win for Best Supporting Actress. I haven't seen the movie, but I've only heard raves about her performance in it.
I also predict Gaga will win for Best Song-- an Oscar I believe she deserves. "Shallow" is a fantastic song. As much as I know Gaga wants to be an acclaimed actress, she needs a bit more time. I have watched her in AHS and I've enjoyed her work, but she needs to develop a bit more as an actress...
Like others have said Gaga is a great performer, but leaves much to be desired as an actress. It's Close's to lose, Olivia could pull an upset though. Supporting I think Regina! Poor Amy always a bridesmaid, never the bride!
ReplyDeleteRegina King for everything, always. I will always be bitter she never won an Emmy for Southland. She is owed all the awards.
ReplyDeleteMelissa McCarthy. Because she's a comedienne, her amazing acting chops get dismissed. She was brilliant. Or Yalitza Aparicio. Beautiful performance.
Jon Bernthal - The Punisher
ReplyDeleteRachel Weisz Supporting
ReplyDeleteGlenn Close Best Actress
Glenn Close. The rest-- who cares.
ReplyDeleteIt's cute that the loudmouth New Yorker Ga Ga is gonna be there.
Every show needs comic relief .
king and coleman
ReplyDeleteI'd vote for Amy Adams, simply because she's been screwed over so many times.
ReplyDeleteProbably Regina King will win. I'd be okay with that, though.
I'd vote for Olivia Colman, because I love everything I've ever seen her in.
Probably Glenn Close will win. I'd be okay with that, too.
Just please, PLEASE, sweet 6-pound 12-ounce 21-inch long Baby Jeejus, NOT LADY GAGME. Please?! PRETTY PLEASE?!
I will vote for Olivia Coleman every... single... time. No matter what show. No matter what award. She is my spirit animal
ReplyDeleteAmy Adams & Glenn Close
ReplyDeleteI want Gaga to win just because it would be the ultimate troll. Just for good measure she should flash her ta-tas and shriek, "SUCK IT BITCHEZZZZZ"
ReplyDeleteI would vote for Amy Adams to sit on my face for an hour or so.
ReplyDeleteRegina King/Glenn Close
ReplyDeleteRegina King/Olivia Colman
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen any of the movies, but Regina King and Glenn Close are both great actresses who are due.
ReplyDeletemy Best Supporting Actress is Emma Stone (The Favourite)
ReplyDeletemy Best Actress is Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born)
