Don't believe the hype. This foreign born former A list boy bander missed an after party because he needed a fix and just wanted to use, not because he was trying to avoid another member of that former boy band.

One Direction stock has pretty much hit bottom at the moment.
ReplyDeleteStyles is MIA, Tomlinson is still struggling to get a single out, Horan is on hiatus and struggling with his anxiety, and Liam Payne is involved with yet another ludicrous public relations relationship, this time with 48-year-old Naomi Campbell.
Zayn's second album had some good tunes, but it quickly sank without a trace.
When a stock hits bottom is usually the time to buy.
Stock rising would require talent, hard work and good tunes plus backing from the label. They all had that at the start of their solo careers, how did it out?
ReplyDeleteHarry's solo album is actually quite good.
DeleteStyles had label support for his solo career, and he had a very successful (if boring) tour. Supposedly he's focusing on acting now.
ReplyDeleteMalik had label support but pissed it away with bad personality and bad choices, plus his refusal to perform live.
Horan had label support and put out some good country-flavored tunes. He also had a successful tour, although smaller scale than Styles'.
Payne had label support and put out some truly dull Top 40 hits, like "Bedroom Floor".
Tomlinson never had label support. He was the only One Direction member to sign his original contract when he was over 18, and he's been Simon Cowell's whipping boy ever since.
Niall isn't really on hiatus, he's doing TV performances and promo for his new song with Julia Michaels.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think I’ve ever heard a 1D song, although I was told Zayn did have some songs on the radio at some point. Never understood their appeal 🤷🏼♀️
ReplyDeleteAstra, most of the appeal was the interplay between the personalities.
ReplyDeleteIt also didn't hurt that they were 5 decent-looking young guys who put women in the center of their songs - everything was about what THEY could do for HER.
"Girl Almighty" was a classic example.
Nice contrast to a lot of pop, rock, and hip-hop music, which is all about what the woman is supposed to do for the man.
Thanks for the info, Nutty! Oh still gotta go read your latest 😁

ReplyDeleteWhat? Cardi B Telling people to eat her ass doesn't count?
What method? He's always in t shirts? Chasing the dragon? Snorting? Neither of these can't be satisfactory high at this point. Zayn should look like Ed Furlong
ReplyDeleteHarry's been papped in LA at recording studios and in Japan lately. Low key, but not MIA. And pics of Zayn certainly don't look like any heroin addicts I've known (and I've know quite a few)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure this blind was in response to a blind on another site (which would be ind-blay ossip-gay in Pig Latin). IIRC, the blind said boybander A and boybander B appeared to get along fine at the Grammys, but in reality they can't stand to be around each other, because they used to date and it ended badly. So, boybander A left a Grammy after-party early to avoid fighting with boybander B.
ReplyDeleteI could always be wrong, but it seems like when Enty says "Don't believe the hype," he's referring to a blind or story that someone has posted elsewhere.
I thought Niall had a pretty good career going, he's had at least 3 chart hits. Zayn and Harry are doing well. The other two are practically unheard of. Reunion is very doubtful.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Liam and Zayn ignored... I thought they were mature enough to get through the hard times. Liam makes good music and I'm sorry he can't hack a solo record.
ReplyDeleteNot buying. Will/Would never buy.
