Blind Item #14 - Oscars - Mr. X
Which closeted nominee took a bunch of benzos before the ceremony because he brought as his date not only his beard/"girlfriend" but one of his parents who hates the beard? He seemed really off kilter on the red carpet. I wonder if his costar hit him up for some benzos too... wouldn't shock me if she did.

Obviously and last night... he’s a great actor actor and I thinking she adores him for giving her the shot etc-it’s palpable, but I guess we here know otherwise. Even David Spade asked who actually thinks they ARENT screwing lol.

ReplyDeleteRami Malek and his gf Lucy from the movie who's like 10 years younger than him. He also fell during the ceremony and that kissing when he won seemed excessive
ReplyDeleteI was a little disappointed that A Star is Born was pretty much totally shut out. It was the only film I saw and the only one that I had any interest in seeing. Good movies are so rare anymore. Maybe one every five years.
ReplyDeleteI agree!! Looooved the film. Listen to the soundtrack all the time. Coop deserves a lot more acclaim, as he worked in every aspect of the film, pretty much. Gaga is gorgwgor as a brunette.

ReplyDeleteI would assume many of the nominees were sedated, having to do that awful carpet walk, sit through a boring ceremony and remain chill through the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteParent who hates his beard does sound like BCoop. His mother probably keeps trying to teach Iron Shark not to leave wrinkles in his shirts but to no avail.

ReplyDeleteRami’s speech showed no signs of intoxication, though. It was fairly calm and measured and he must have had a pretty good idea he’d be making it.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing Lucy Boynton get her bearding payoff with the mention of her full name at the end of Rami’s speech plus a paean to how “incredibly talented” she is. All that was missing was her agent’s phone number.
“Heart of the film” please any cute British girl could have played Mary. I hope Rami is getting a big check or a great part for giving Lucy such an endorsement.

He is a control freak and there is no way he would be under the influence while singing that song- he was super nervous doing it as it is and he did not seem under the influence of anything while up there or on the red carpet. Lots of people bring their parents to these things, whether they are sitting with them or up in the stands. Irina and him and his Mom seemed really happy on the red carpet, laughing and having a good time.

ReplyDeleteI think Rami and Lucy...he always has an odd energy to him, imo, so maybe benzos just kept him from crawling out of his skin from the nerves. He DID fall off stage, that could be an argument that he was on something.

Did anyone watch ABC's pre-show? There was a shot on the red carpet that was so telling. Bradley Cooper with his arm around his mother posing for photos while the beard is about a foot to his left and doing all of these glamour poses for the same photographers.

ReplyDeleteI want to say Rami Malek as it seemed odd that yesterday he suddenly showed a lot of PDA to the girl he’s been ‘dating’ for nearly a year. There are also photos of him using eye drops during a commercial break at the awards (maybe he wears contacts). I was hoping he would have sat his mother next to him. The falling off the stage certainly doesn’t help the speculation. Though I would think that’s more alcohol induced.
ReplyDeleteHonestly when I saw he sat with Lucy he dropped down some notches. Even if it was a real relationship his Mother should have been next to him or like Brad have both his mom and “girlfriend” there. .

I watched a number of his red carpet interviews and he was spot on when answering the questions, he was not wasted or out of it at all. Like I said, the guy is totally type A and because he was performing and or could win and his Mom was with him, as if he was popping pills, and he is sober. No way it was Bradley, no one will ever convince me so.

ReplyDeleteMy Dad’s family is TALL, my Dad was 6’5 @ when he passed. I stopped growing @ 5’2 but both my sons are over 6 ft. Curious if I look as
short as his Mom did last night, especially on the Red Carpet. *shutters*

DeleteMy husband caught me lookinh this up and asked me what I was doing. I admitted it w/very red cheeks.
I had never noticed her being so short before, but I would have sworn she was a little person. I saw 5’4” listed as her height, but she looks 4’9” - 4’11” to me. My aunt is 4’11” and Mom Cooper looks shorter than that. Irina is 5’10”-5’11.”
Off topic - but Robert Kraft looks the same way, next to Tom Brady in pics yesterday.
Lucy saw her chance to get known in Hollywood and took it. Also funny how he didn’t mentioned her on any televised award show nor kissed her in public until the final award show. I wonder who is giving him the check for the Lucy plug.

ReplyDeleteBenzodiazepines alter the GABA center of your brain, they calm you, they do not make you jittery/nutty. I know, I have a scrip for em. ;-) For this reason, I think it is BC for sure. He was calm and collected when they sang. I really really liked their chemistry at the end of the song. And yeah, his mom is very short, I would say maybe 4'6" or so. Definitely not anywhere near 5 feet, so no worries OKC Teacher.
ReplyDeleteRami acted VERY weird as he kissed his girlfriend repeatedly, before he went up to accept his award, so he is my pick. Also, I agree w/someone earlier, who stated Mamma Malek should have sat w/him too!! Gf already had a seat next to him, because she was in the movie...
