Blind Items Revealed #1

November 29, 2018

Earlier this month, I had a chance to sit down with a retired road manager to a permanent foreign based A++ list group which seemingly will never end touring despite what have seemed like endless proclamations that this one will be the last and then next one is the last. Whatever. If you can sell out stadiums, then keep on keeping on. We talked a lot and I got many many blinds to last for years, but one that I was most interested in asking him, he did confirm. I had always heard rumors, but I wondered hat happened after. So, there were two women who were best friends who came to a show by this group. They were already one of the biggest groups on the planet. This is many decades ago. The two women told the band they had each just dumped their boyfriends to go on this trip to see the band who were playing in a European country. The two women were from a differing European country. Anyway, the women hooked up with a couple different band members and the next morning they set out to do some sightseeing before they went back to their country and their lives and jobs. The thing is though, the band members wanted them to stay and wouldn't let them leave. The first day it was kind of funny and the women agreed. By the second day it had grown troublesome and then finally at day four or five, they were basically forced to stay and had someone watching them 24/7. They were kept away from phones which would have been the only way to communicate. They had their passports taken. They basically became forced sex slaves for this band and whoever the band decided the women should sleep with. This went on for almost two months. When the band finished their European tour they were headed home for a break before heading out on the next leg. What to do with the two women? Apparently one of the road managers was made responsible for them and he took them to his house where he kept them for about three days. One night when he was trying to have a threesome with them, they ganged up on him and got away. Naked. When I asked this (different) road manager about the aftermath he said the band fired the road manager which is how he got hired but that no one ever heard from the two women. No police came. No one knows what happened to them. Not one peep ever. I said that I found that kind of odd. He agreed and he thinks the band fired him not for letting them go, but maybe that he disposed of them in a permanent way and that the threesome and escaping story is just a story.

  2. I'm guessing bill and mick(possibly ronnie or the other mick as well) were more keen than keith or charlie.

  3. And everyone thought the Stones were too this, or too that. They did, after all, famously hire the Hells Angels as security.

  4. Looks like Lady Baus nailed it. Dick Clark always spoke os some evil groups and always thought it was Led Zep but i guess the Stones are too. Now they are a bunch of sorry looking Senior Citizens !

  5. Bullshit.
If this were real, there would be an "Esquire article" or "imminent arrest" to leverage. Then nothing.

  6. Doesn't surprise me. The legendary rock bands think of themselves as gods who have the right to do anything.

I think he had them killed.

  7. RS are just as guilty. Had it not been for their solipsistic actions, those girls would be old women with PTSD.

And this is just ONE STORY from ONE SUMMER, one incident out of many other incidents that summer out of a 56 YEAR CAREER, never got caught, free pass for everything. Whoa.

Could you just IMAGINE what they have to do to get off on ANYTHING nowadays?

  10. The red herring was "endless proclamations that this one will be the last and then next one is the last". The Stones have never done that.

  11. They have never run a retirement tour Enty. Even this one upcoming isn't announced as being one. Mick is going to collapse and die trying to dance on stage. He's not retiring.

  12. Happy New Year. and thank you for your time doing this site et al.

  13. Do Tell--just a couple of weeks before Enty posted this, Keith Richards was talking in interviews about a farewell tour, which might be why Enty wrote it this way.

  14. Why would the Stones do this when there were hundreds of groupies willing to follow the band where ever, for however long they wished? And if they were on tour, how could they "enjoy" these girls at only one location?

  16. They hired Hells Angels as security for only event only, which was Altamont back in the 60's, and they regretted it ever since.

  17. "The Last Time" was a 1965 hit single for the Stones. "Aftermath", their 1966 album which featured Jagger/Richard originals like Stupid Girl and Under My Thumb. Brian Jones too had a cruel streak toward women. Their roadies may have bought into the Danger Stones shtick, and acted greasy, but nope to things going as far as this blind implies.

  18. I agree, this blind is once again BS. The Stones were never really "tight", as they don't spend much time together outside of the shows and the recording studio (apart from Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood or Wyman and Watts). There aren't many groupie stories circulating about them, contrary to the stuff on Led Zeppelin.

Besides, the original Rolling Stones road manager is dead. Ian Stewart was indeed part of the original line-up, as the piano player, but he looked too square for Andrew Loog Oldham when he signed them. He remained associated with the band as their pianist (both in the studio and live) and road manager. He's the sixth Stone.

The Stones had a few other road managers, people like Sam Cutler or Patrick Stansfield. None of those guys would drop such a bomb on his former clients to a nobody.

  19. @Dave - my point still stands. The Rolling Stones have never made "endless proclamations" about farewell tours. The Who - yes. Cher - yes. The Stones -no.

  20. @Do Tell is right. They might hint in a couple of interviews it may be the last one, but they never announced at any point in their career it was their final tour.

This might be a detail, but a very revealing one. When somebody who claims to be extremely well informed about the Rolling Stones assumes they keep on proclaiming that their current tour is their last one, it means that the guy knows shit about the band.

  21. They are retiring just as much as Ozzy is. Ozzy just said his No More Tours 2 tour doesn't mean the end of him touring. He will just not be doing anything long term and it will be more like a few dates here and there. The only band I believe is really retiring right now is Slayer. Kiss can tease all they want but I'll believe it when I see it. Paul will be croaking out songs when he's 85. I think either Gene or Paul would have to die before the final nail is permanently put into the Kiss Kasket.

I don't buy this story in total unless Enty buys that The Rolling Stones are really retiring. Those guys will be wheeled out on stretchers with nurse attendants long before they retire.

I think there's a crumb of truth to this story. But it's been blown out of proportion and could be a composite of several different groupie incidents. They were never seen again? Well they probably went home and naturally didn't tell anyone they knew about the ordeal. Back then you were just going to be called a slut because you were a groupie. No one would have taken them seriously if they had been detained by the band against their will. There was no social media army to call for the band's heads either. No cellphones to record proof that a crime had been committed.

I don't buy the old "these girls obviously wanted it" stories that you hear about the bygone rock eras every time stories like this come up. Not 100% There's no way all those groupie encounters were 100% consensual. Maybe some fans just wanted an autograph or just wanted to tell the band how much they loved them. But one thing leads to another and they end up victims. But coming forward is impossible because everyone will just call them sluts because they willingly spent time alone with the band. Some girls are just young and naive and don't realise what can happen. And it's not like they could sue.The band's team has bloodthirsty sharks for lawyers that would eat them alive and shame them so much that their lives would be ruined.

That said, if these women were real, they knowingly got into a stupid situation. They left their boyfriends to follow the band. They didn't take being detained seriously until it was too late. It's not their fault that they were victims. But thy were irresponsible and likely just ran off and went back home keeping mum about it. Hell, maybe they laugh now about their naked escape from the road manager.

Where'd they get clothes? Who knows. Maybe they stole laundry. Or they made up some story.
