Blind Item #5

Without that strict oversight she is used to having, the times this permanent A list "singer" has been drunk has increased ten fold over the past month. Someone needs to step in now before it gets out of hand.

  2. Hope not. Something wonky about her cancellation of Vegas. I used to live near her mom's place in Kentwood. NICE SPREAD. HUGE acreage. I wonder about her dad and the conservatorship.

I have always liked her because she was from our area and from all reports was a down home girl. She is surrounded by vultures and snakes. I hope she gets it together up in the country. I think her dad is in Abita Springs, which is VERY idyllic. The north shore, as we call it in New Orleans, is very beautiful and healing. Pine Forests everywhere. People who lived in the city would go there if they had health problems in the old days.

Oh Britney, is this going to stop anywhere but hospitalization? She was so gorgeous in her prime, the only celebrity that looked better in person than on screen.

An old friend of mine (not anymore) was her meth dealer in Vegas. Apparently she used to buy an ounce at a time

  6. From the clips I could see of her dancing, she didn't have the physicality or dance moves of someone of a meth user.

Normally I'd agree, but this dude had the hottest sports cars and had selfies with her .

  7. How many times does someone have to step in to "save" her?

She's an addict and/or an alcoholic. While I truly appreciate the sentiment of structure and external supports, sometimes people need to be allowed to fail.

It happens all the time to us lesser mortals. She was a talent, she made gobs of money, she pissed it all away.

If you can't get your act together after this many years of support, then maybe you never will, and maybe she doesn't need to be performing anymore.

    1. She's bipolar. People with bipolar lose it, get on their meds, feel good, think they are fine to get off their meds, lose it, lather rinse repeat. Alcohol and drugs are side effects to dampen the beast of bipolar.

The only way to save a bipolar is to step in, get them help, and monitor them. She exhibits a lot of bipolar druge side effects in her public behaviour.

  10. this makes me sad. i really really like her (always have).

i'm sure she is depressed and freaked out about losing her father; however, if she was/is doing meth and now drinking; oh baby geezus.

does she really need to continue to "make" money? wouldn't she be set for life if she just retired from the game to relax and be a Mom?

Britney getting drunk, or Britney being sober, is one person's business:
    Britney's.

She's an adult. People have been making her choices for her,
    for the past decade.
She celebrating the freedom from conservatorship.
She's also enjoying the fact that she's no longer paying a bunch of dancers and low level managers and handlers.
She's enjoying wearing regular clothing... instead of the black PVC straps that were her 'costume'.
Glad to see she has taken her life back. Bravo.

    1. To those who say she shouldn’t work anymore, I don’t think she does it for the money, but rather the structure. If she is prone to alcohol & drug addiction, the last thing she needs is idle time on her hands. Without a “purpose” ( for lack of a better word), responsibility and accountability an addict can easily become lost in their addictions. The Vegas residency was probably perfect for her because she could be productive and in a stable environment (verses touring and being in a new state every night). People on here often try to make her Dad seem like “the bad guy” who forces her to perform for the money, but I think he’s done a great job of keeping her on the straight and narrow. He has protected her from the leaches that surrounded her as well as from herself and her destructive tendencies.

    2. @Jenn that’s a great point about structure. It can benefit recovery and functioning in mental health crises, too, which she’s been known to have. Conservatorships aren’t so much about freedom as they are about assisted functioning.

Independent “adult” functioning is not something everyone is capable of. It may be easy for many, doable for most, but it’s far from achievable by all, no matter how normal they look on the outside.*

*This has been your semi-weekly invisible disabilities PSA. Thank you.

  20. I always thought she was bipolar. I have known bipolar addicts/alcoholics. These use drugs to soften the blow of the harsh depression they go into. Also they sometimes go off their meds because the feeling of being neutral is uncomfortable and boring. If she is both bipolar and an addict she needs to be treated for both.

Maybe she should spend some time doing service work with people who cannot afford a posh rehab. That might get her attention.

Lastly didn't she cancel her show the same day Lady Gaga started her residency in Las Vegas?

  21. This is very sad. I thought her dad had hired "caretakers/minders" for her to make sure she stayed out of trouble. Maybe they were there more to make sure she woke up on time and made each Vegas performance on time. On top of everything, I had heard Britney had people who monitored and approved everything she ate. So at least there was the appearance that she had her act together even if behind the scenes things are falling off the rails. Lauryn Hill needs someone like this.

It sounds like these people's employment was contingent on the Vegas residency. It sounds like now that she's not performing, these "minders" have been "furloughed". The dad should've hired someone who is there all the time to monitor her and make sure she takes her medication and stays out of trouble. It's sad to have to do this for an adult but it's better than finding them dead at a young age by their own devices. I really hope her dad gets better.

  22. Hey Momo! I grew up in Slidell :) I think if Britney went back to Kentwood or somewhere near home, I think it might be very therapeutic for her too. Sometimes folks just need to get away ❤

  23. I think it's sick how this site endorses her enslavement. Show me another adult who has had a conservatirship where she is healthy enough to work but not healthy enough to make any of her own financial or other decisions, and this is allowed to continue indefinitely for years on end.

    1. @Bleu The only reason most adults in her situation don’t have it set in place legally is that they don’t have the money/business empire to protect or they don’t have family who care enough/have the capability to set a conservatorship in place. She’s far from the only adult who is healthy enough to appear normal but not well enough to safely make significant decisions that affect others as well as themselves.

Read up on the spectrum of executive dysfunction sometime. Then throw in the disease of addiction, and give it some thought.

  24. I never liked Britney but it's sad to see a shell of a person being worked to death for money by her relatives. She's gonna die young(ish).

    ReplyDelete
  25. Britney's main problem is not addiction or attracting human leaches, lots of people have those and suffer the consequences. Britney also has some major psychological/psychiatric issues. Pick any of the three and staying busy can be very helpful.

    Her life. Her business.
    It's called FREEDOM OF CHOICE.
IF Britney loses her assets... Or doesn't ...they are BRITNEY's ASSETS..
'Someone else will take over your adult life"?
NO.I am thrilled that she's taken her life back.
    Come what may.
    HER earnings
    HER career
    =HER LIFE.
    NOT Jamie Spears' life .
And NOT slave to Kevin Federline's demands.
    Congratulations, Britney.

    1. @unknown Yes they are her assets. I’m actually trying to draw a distinction between accommodating a disability through conservatorship vs “taking away someonr’s freedom.” It’s a fine line in a lot of ways, I’ll grant you. It comes down to how do we measure and accommodate disability. What kinds of help are acceptable.

I support her having agency in ALLOWING the conservatorship to continue, which is what I suspect is actually occurring. She could fight it at this point. She doesn’t. And it’s clearly been making some aspects of her life easier for and on her.

  27. @Jenn

Well written and very accurate, everything you say fits Britney as we know her. She needs the structure and the work for her own sanity. Her father did a miraculous job of taking care of her and her estate. I hope he is going to recover completely but it doesn't sound good.

Britney is a good person, underneath it all, as reported by nearly everyone who has worked with her. I like her, warts and all, for her fundamental honesty. I'll always root for her.

  28. @The Oracle They are not victims of MK Ultra! They are victims of fame and greed. Both mentally unwell along with a ton of others who have been abused in the hollywood system or by family members. I actually feel sorry for her, but not Kanye. If you get into bed with the devil, what can you expect?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh Britney, I’m rooting for ya! Actually saw her in concert last summer (Atlantic City) and she was professional, engaging and knew her performance inside out. She looked incredible.

Do I think she was passionate during her performance? Nope. Do I think she benefits from the structure and stability of a residency. Yup.

Really hoping she doesn’t succumb to her demons.

Sounds like you are in denial.
    Britney's cancelled her Vegas schedule
Britney is clearly eating and drinking exactly what she likes.
Britney is no longer under someone's thumb.
    And that is GREAT.

    She's taking her life back.

  31. @lucky Britney is diagnosed as bipolar

Radar catches her at In N Out one time and she's bingeing, lmao right. What happened to the claim that she can't get any fast food until someone reviews its calorie contents?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Also, "In N Out" is not necessarily bad for her, especially if she gets hers protein-style. Their food is locally sourced, non-GMO, never frozen, etc., not like the blister burgers at McDonald's and others.

  35. As a few people said before, her latest issues had to do with the health of her father. He really did a great job when he took full responsability for her when we all thought she was going to die. So of course she must be on some difficult times, but I really hope she’ll be ok. She have come through a lot and she have won every battle. EVERY person who have battle with addictions is in risk of going back to their old behaviors, it’s kind of normal and she still can move forward. She just have to take care of her and try to focus on difficult times. I really hope she and her dad get better.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @unknown Let’s see. Since none of us know her personal or, did she seem objectively healthier and happier under the conservatorship? I'm gonna go with yes. And it looks like I'm far from alone.
