  6. I went to Times Square once, Never, ever again. Disgusting experience.

Go to Times Square area on NYE ONLY if you or someone you know has a room or an apartment with a view of the ball. Otherwise go to a view party somewhere.

I can't stand Ryan Seacrest or the acts he has on, so I don't even watch it on TV anymore.

In. Have to work today & tomorrow.
I will have a drink, or two, though.

  10. Going to a friend's house though I'd much prefer to stay in. I usually go to bed by 9pm, so it's gonna be tough to stay up.

  13. Staying home, watching the fools get soaked in Time Sq tonight and checking up regularly on the revel-a-thon here on CDAN.

  14. Out - dinner at a local Cajun restaurant, and then Longwood Gardens, a former DuPont estate that was recently voted the best Christmas light show in the US. They do it right on NYE, with a lot of live music, dancing fountains, and the like.

I'll be home in time to see the ball drop.

  17. Stay in and calm the dog, in Florida its not a great night to go out what with all the drunk drivers with guns. Tomorrow at 1 pm I go to an amazing party with tons of southern cooking and oyster roast and I am expected to bring my hot cheesy artichoke crab dip or else I wont be let in the door LOL!

  19. Staying in.

    Yes, I'm going to drink.

Did the Las Vegas Strip 'thingy' years ago. Never again.

And like @Sandybrook, I will most likely sleep through the entire mess.

    HAPPY NEW YEARS, EVERYONE!

  30. Definitely in, hoping the idiots that shoot off their guns at midnight don't hurt anyone. My sister talked me into going to Times Square pre 9/11 and was horrible. I've seen so many disgusting drunks in one place in all my life. Remarkably it didn't affect our relationship -lol.

  31. In..I never saw the appeal of celebrating.Nothing changes but the calender. Nothing like starting the new year with a massive hangover a stranger in your bed and a third degree case of the burning whiskey shits

  32. Here’s what Pappy Crawley always told us:
Remember to raise your left leg at midnight on NEw Year’s Eve. That way, you’re always starting the new year on the right foot.

  33. Party at a hotel in San Francisco, and we're staying the night there.

  34. @J.L, Yeah make sure you're under a roof or something around midnight in those areas, all those bullets they fire off in the air eventually come down. And usually not on the people that fired them due to trajectories and wind.

    In this year.

  42. Working Jan 1st at o'dark early. In for the night. My dad always called NYE Amateur Night for drinkers. Plus the roads where I live are icy. It'll be scary enough driving to work tomorrow, let alone being on the roads tonight with drunks.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Staying in! Apparently though my neighbors are using are driveway as their parking lot for their NYE party. Should I charge or valet for them?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'll be working in the children's emergency room all night.

    ReplyDelete
  45. We ALWAYS stay home. The last time we went out was 18 years ago. I was pregnant and we went to a rave. (Mommy used to be cool!)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I go out and enjoy myself when I'm in the mood, not because half the idiots on this planet agree to go out on a particular day.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @Kimberly Davis
Sitting here laughing about your Manhattan Comment.
I lived in Manhattan for 10 years and NEVER saw the ball drop either.
I lived on East 65th Street & Lexington and could often hear the happenings
outside but never considered venturing down to Times Square.
If I was in the city on NYE, we'd just watch it on the TV :)

Avoiding Times Square at all costs, ANY TIME OF THE YEAR is always a fast and hard rule for us city folk.

  48. Happy New Year all of you guys!
