  3. I watched about 3 episodes when it started. I was a big zombie fan but this along with the Dawn of the Dead reboot made me hate zombie movies.

I love all those horrible European Dawn of the Dead rip-offs but as soon as zombies became mainstream, they started to die.

    1. Are you kidding? The Dawn of the Dead remake was actually really good. And I love classic zombie horror movies and George Romero, but that remake was actually good. It's the only recent-ish zombie-related popular media that was worth watching.

  4. I watched a few seasons. By the middle of the third season, I couldn't tell the zombies from the rednecks anymore and turned it off.

  5. What they need is a season focused on the actual Walking Deads. Like how were they created, how do they distinguish between the living and the undead, do they have a leadership structure, what is their ultimate goal, and so on.

  6. That surprises me as even though ratings have tanked, it’s still in the 5M range which is pretty good for cable. But, that may be why they are talking about walking dead movies involving multiple characters (first one being Rick) which could end up replacing the original show. Would explain long term contracts for Reedus and McBride - destined for their own movies. The show has got to get an end game to keep anyone interested. Still watching, but definitely not as interested as before.

  7. It should never have run on longer than three series.

  8. This is proof that the Kardashians are indeed kockroaches.

  9. My problem with the show is it's been six years since Rick Grimes left and there are just as many or more zombies.

Wouldn't you think that with time, the survivors would have eliminate many of them by now?

    =)

  10. David, I've been arguing this point for a while now. They should at least be disintegrating.

The only mystery they need to clear up is the helicopter and how the military is involved.

I've enjoyed watching the show because of all the incongruities (gas that has lasted longer than the life of gas, newer cars, candles don't need to be lit anymore). I thought someone would have put together a website or blog noting all of that.

  11. This season has a real rise in quality compared to the shitshow of season 7 and 8. I'm actually enjoying it again, anyone see the mid-season finale? Awesome!

  12. The only plausible explanation for the zombies in The Walking Dead is magic. Seriously. They should have rotted away. Insects should have buried eggs and maggots should have eaten them. The degraded and damaged musculature should not function. No way are they consuming enough calories and they certainly never seem to stop for a drink of water. It's bullsh!t magic to make viewers feel comfortable with the good guys brutally murdering thousands of humanoids.

The end game? There are no zombies. The "survivors" are the only ones infected, with some type of rabies, and they've been murdering innocent people this whole time.

  13. Brayson, there was an anthology horror series that actually did a story line like that. It turns out that the "humans" are delusional and infected by something that makes them think they are normal. But as it turns out they are the real zombies the whole time. I can't remember the name of this series. But I think I saw it on Netflix several years ago. And it's likely no longer there.

I only started watching the first two seasons of The Walking Dead when it came out because of my interest in old school Resident Evil. I was playing a lot of Outbreak at the time. However, I found it got very draggy and lost interest. My sister watches it though.

Most shows shouldn't go on too long though. And that's regardless of if they are good or not. Things should be ended before the steam runs out not after.

  15. Everyone in Walking Dead world already has the virus.

Once you die you turn into a new zombie. So, the zombies will never stop coming. Everyone dies, after all.

  16. I loved the first season, but that was it. The zombies are first rate, but George Romero was right, "It's a soap opera with zombies." I now know what kills you after the zombie apocalypse---boredom. It's still not as bad as Fear the Walking Dead. That show really blows. Who makes a zombie show without zombies? No zombies the first season, and we still don't know what the first days were like.
