Blind Item #8
This A list rapper doesn't care about protests and what she should do. If you give her a big enough check and lots of perks, she will perform anywhere for anyone. Throw in the fact it is a huge event, and she will be front and center.
Cardi
ReplyDeleteCardi B*
ReplyDelete/Superbowl
ReplyDeleteGood for her!
ReplyDeleteDid she decide to go? JayZ's going to be pissed if she does.
ReplyDeleteDunno... I think she said Maroon 5 best lay out the Red Carpet though
DeleteHuh lol
If Cardi is smart she'll avoid the Superbowl. Performing with Maroon 5 is embarassing.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that entertainment and politics go back to being two different things again
ReplyDeleteGauloise this beef is more about the NFL blackballing Colin Kaepernick for his activism. JayZ doesnt think black entertainers should be playing at NFL sponsored events because of what the league did to Colin.
ReplyDelete@sandybrook, that is what I was referring to. Colin Kapernick and activism invading entertainment. It would be nice if the two separate again. Nothing against activism, but its nice to have just a few enjoyable corners of the world free from it, where people can unite and just enjoy things without constant bickering
ReplyDeleteIf I went and started some kind of protest, even if it was for a valid cause, at my work, I would be fired on the spot, as it isnt the place, and it is costing the owners money.
Kapernick and Jay Z both have the ,money and fame that they don't need the NFL to use as a platform to fight for their causes.
@Gauloise I hear you! The Super Bowl halftime show is going to suck no matter who it is, and I dont think Maroon5 has been officially announced yet, but they are a huge comedown from what used to do it. This year would have been the right year for a Garth Brooks or another superstar country group. When you think of it, southern people are the biggest football fans and most avid and their music genre has never done halftime.
ReplyDelete@sandybrook
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Atlanta crowd will LOVE Garth Brooks.
I didn’t think they were paid to do the Super Bowl halftime entertainment. It was a Hugh honor to play halftime at the SuperBowl game..
ReplyDeleteIt’s hasnt been nothing much in the last decade.. I definitely don’t watch the football game and my partner doesn’t watch it at all..
Hence I’m not missing anything because everything is getting too political in my eyes...
I remember the ACTIVISM of that random white guy (character name George) who was besties with Katherine Heigle and quit Grey's Anatomy.
ReplyDeleteSuffice to say, we've never heard from him again.
Entertainers shouldn't have to sacrifice career opportunities to support a bigger agenda if they don't want to, that's suicide.
I laugh at these idiots who bitch about old white men but happily work for them for the exorbitant salaries they get paid.
ReplyDeleteI'll listen when they work 9-5 and live paycheck to paycheck. Those are the folks--of all and any colors--to be sympathetic to
@Ali regular fans dont get to that game, its all corporate people, so maybe they would.
ReplyDeleteLeBron likening club owners to slave owners - hence likening himself to a slave is the height of offensiveness. He lucked out with his talent. Take your millions and work for your self if you don't want to feel like a 'slave'. Jerk.
ReplyDelete@Gentle Breeze: What talent? He’s just a former drug dealer who turned into a thug with a hot wife. His ‘people’ who will kill anyone that offends him is really over the top. Fuck J and Beyoncé.
ReplyDeleteSo my question is; if all these stars want the protest in support of kappernack, are they are aware that 3/4 if not more of the NFL is African American?
ReplyDeleteI can't even recall what Maroon 5 sound like.
ReplyDeleteThe Colin thing is so lame, specially because he was a terrible player, the best thing that happened to him was getting clout for his melodramatic behaviour. Talk about ruining one of the few things Americans can still enjoy. I'm sick as fuck of involving politics with everything. OK, Trump won, big whoop. Instead of whining about what a meanie he is let's all work together to make this country a better place no matter the shitty president it has, let's stop the whining about everything and let's get to work.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who goes against the Political Correctness Nazis is okay with me.
ReplyDeleteJust like Kramer, who refused to wear the ribbon!
The privilege here is astounding and I guess none of you have black children for whom you worry every time they leave the house, that they might meet up with a police officer and not drop to the ground fast enough to avoid being shot and killed
ReplyDeleteBut hey you know you should have your football games without worrying about black kids being murdered by police officers
American Police shoots blacks far fewer than blacks shoot black.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the statistical excess of violent black criminality there's a lower chance of getting shot than should be expected.
CurlySue: Want privilege. Be a white person who grew up in Detroit. I prayed my 1 1/2 block walk from the bus stop wouldn't get me ripped off, raped or killed.
ReplyDeleteWho is REALLY killing who in this country?
