Which newly "married" actress and social climber threw a huge tantrum because she overheard that her wedding pics might be knocked off the cover of Kneepads after they were going to put the recently deceased politician on the cover? It was a last minute decision because she threatened to sell the pics to a rival magazine, and Kneepads caved to her demands.
Priyanka
ReplyDeletePriyanka! Duh.
ReplyDeleteAll snark aside, they were gorgeous photos.
Priyanka and her ridiculous fake wedding.
ReplyDelete"The Cut," which is part of New York Magazine, had to retract an article suggesting that Nick and Priyanka were not a genuine couple and the entire wedding was carried out for reasons of PR and merching.
ReplyDeleteOutrage and angry tweets from Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner, et al, and lots of random commenters calling the article racist!!!! ("They won't accept a dark girl marrying a white boybander!!!!!!").
The article's author, a young black comedian and writer named Mariah Smith, was getting death threats before the piece was finally pulled.
I read it via screen shots on Twitter. It's a pretty mild article, although it does call Priyanka a "con artist." I don't know why she would be any more of a con artist than Nick.
The Joe Jonas fake wedding that looked like it cost a small fortune
ReplyDeleteI saw snippets of the article, the most confusing part to me was claiming Nick was trapped. Pretty sure he was willingly standing at the end of the aisle, and his own father performed one of the ceremonies. Fake or not, he was all for it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree with you, Rachel. Mariah seemed very young and in need of an editor who could have reined her in a bit. She had to write a grovelling apology.
ReplyDeleteGrovelling apologies seem to be quite common these days, and they all use the same wording and seem to be written by the same people. Kevin Hart's sounded like it was written by a robot. I went back and saw Eddie Murphy's and Brett Ratner's from 2012, and they seemed like they were written by the same robot.
i have read that The Cut article and it was mediocre bc unfairly unilateral, all unbalanced toward the" poor Nick and Pryanka as smart artist " or so, but it was refreshing bc at least was a bit out of the ordinay kissing as*** that i have seen around that ridicolous circus
ReplyDeleteOF COURSE, the pics were gorgeus, the indian weddings are gorgeus per se, how could this thoroughly thought and planned and produced show of a wedding NOT be gorgeus?
Yeah, it was the only article I've seen in the mainstream media that dared to say things were not as presented.
ReplyDeleteIf this is really true then shame on People magazine. They should have never let her take the place of a former president for her wedding. She could have waited one week. Have some respect for the leaders of this country you want so desperately to work in.
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as that cut article is concerned, the writer, Mariah basically said what the blinds have been saying for months about those two. They're just butt hurt because someone put their names in the article instead of saying "a certain A-list celebrity". We all know the truth.
Enh. People will just have a special issue dedicated to GHW in the coming weeks. They always do. Everybody wins. They probably had it nearly ready to go with his failing health and all, just have to add funeral pics and quotes and it will be good to go. The service dog will have a 2 page spread.
ReplyDeleteI did wonder why they got the massive cover and GHW Bush was relegated to the corner.
ReplyDeleteThe manufactured interest in this fake event paled in comparison to the real-life drama that was GHWB's funeral
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteGet over yourselves. People are starving in your nation! Yes Priyanka...This Means You.
If they had any class, they would get married at the Clerks office ...and give the millions to a good charity.
People Magazine ...For when cat litter just isn't enough.
ReplyDeleteWhy does it seem Chopra and Jonas are mirroring Jason and Tahani from The Good Place?
ReplyDeleteAs ridiculous and tacky as it is, I have to agree about the photos. One picture looked like something from the cover of One Thousand and one Nights.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad, the cover let me point out to a friend what an arranged celebrity marriage looks like. The friend hadn't heard of either of them lol.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly interested in India...
ReplyDeleteHow about a cover story on the slums of Bombay? with no electricity or running water?
And as far as that cut article is concerned, the writer, Mariah basically said what the blinds have been saying for months about those two. They're just butt hurt because someone put their names in the article instead of saying "a certain A-list celebrity". We all know the truth.
ReplyDelete==================================
Ms Smith "called the baby ugly" as they used to say. In other words she told the truth about what was happening.
LOL comparing the fake wedding to Tahani and Jason on "The Good Place".
Why, if this is true, is this girl more important than President George H.W. Bush?
ReplyDeleteOn top of that why wouldn't people put out two magazines like they have in the past?
The world today.
