Blind Items Revealed #3 - Anniversary Month

March 8, 2018

There is one movie that kind of ties a lot of things together. It was a movie that didn't make a lot of money. Honestly, it didn't make squat. It was probably one of the worst performing movies of that year. It made less than a $1M. It led to at least three deaths that I can think of off the top of my head. One of the deaths involved the star of the movie. He wouldn't die until later in life, but at the time he made the movie he was probably 16, and it was this type of thing that made him who he was and ultimately killed him. He got the job by having sex with the male producer of the movie. He was more than a producer of the movie, he was the owner of the company making the movie. People always forget that he was a movie big shot at that time. They all just think of him as a record executive and forget the whole movie thing. That movie thing introduced him to many hundreds of young teens. Not only did he have sex with the 16 year old lead, but also his 17 year old girlfriend/co-star. That was all part of the deal. It was an actress, not this one, that was breaking up his marriage before he was killed. An actress who was also underage. An actress who was lusted after by one of his killers.

  1. Ahh man, that was the movie with the cool dog and the monster.

  2. I wonder if Dean Koontz knew anything about it.

    1. Hope not. He's one of my favorite authors and love how most of his books have a golden retriever in it as a dedication to his beloved Trixie. He seems like one of the good guys. I'd heard he hated some adaptations of his books and this may have been one of them.

  3. Lala Sloatman was the girlfriend.

  4. Known as Lala Zappa at the time.

  5. +1 Brayson. I didn't realize Lala was also in Dream a Little Dream. I think there was a blind about that movie within the last couple of months.

  6. Lala Sloatman is related to the Frank Zappa family. She married Chris Robertson of the Black Crowes who lated married Kate Hudson.

  7. "It was an actress, not this one, that was breaking up his marriage before he was killed. An actress who was also underage. An actress who was lusted after by one of his killers."

Who is the other actress that was breaking up the marriage?

  8. So, the whole story about Jose Menendez molesting his son, Eric, could be true? Wow, i thought they made that up as an excuse for killing them.

  9. Why was Erik mentioned in the blind? He's still very much alive. Also, Haim was not killed; he died of drug-induced pneumonia. Also had a bad heart.

  10. @Village - He's mentioned as "one of the killers" who lusted after an actress.

  11. Jose Menendez did not own Carolco, he was an Exec Vice President

  12. So the Menedez brothers killed their parents because their father was fucking actresses they wanted? Kitty's death was collateral damage? Interesting.

  13. Jose Menendez was a member of the Board of Directors of Carolco

he was also "chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Los Angeles-based LIVE Entertainment Inc., parent company of International Video Entertainment Inc., which distributes children's programming "

  14. I have never seen a single person have a nice thing to say about Jose Menendez in any Menendez doc, which is really rare for a murder victim.

  15. I always heard Koontz hated what they did with Watchers and it soured him on Hollywood.

  16. This doesn't make sense. Jose Menendez is not a producer on that film, and the companies he was affiliated with don't have any documented connection with the production companies on that film. Not even with the distributors. And no one thinks (or thought) Menendez was "only a record exec". Carolco was HUGE in movies. And he wasn't an owner. I also don't believe the Menendez brothers were molested. This is all just convenient connecting of a 3 deaths to make it more interesting.

  17. I 100% believe the Menendez Bros, or at least one of them, was molested.
There were also a number of ppl who also believed it in Hollywood back when the murders happened.

  18. Seems like Erik and Lyle might deserve a pardon if this is true.

  19. It did seem rather extreme, never quite bought that out of nowhere they blasted both their parents just to get their hands on the family money.

  20. Even if the molestation allegations were true, it wouldn't be enough to get the Menendez Brothers out of prison. You'd have to believe that they were SURE their parents were going to kill *them*. And at the moment of their murders, the parents were sitting on the couch eating ice cream and watching television.
Plus, the molestation stories didn't come out until their second trial - no mention of it in the first trial. Seemed like a desperate attempt to bolster their already shaky defense.

  21. The Menendez brothers were/are telling the truth. One would have to understand the intense level of manipulation and intimidation preyed upon them due to repeated physical, sexual and mental abuse to understand their fear and stunted intellect.
Both mommy and daddy got what they deserved. The brothers acted like animals finally freed from their cages. That was their demise.
People who kill for money are much more careful.

  22. ETA: I'm sure Jose had many more skeletons in his closet.

  23. I definitely remember reading Jose Menendez molested/raped many if not all of the kids from Menudo (Ricky Martin included)

  24. I read that Jose Menendez had cut a hole in the ceiling so he could watch one of his sons undress. Can't remember which one. It was the one that was more heavily victimized. Jose was a pedo and Menudo gave him a revolving door of boys to rape.

Menudo appeared on a sitcom back in the 80s. I think it was Silver Spoons. But I'm not entirely sure. Well they might have appeared on several. But I remember them on one in particular and I'm fairly certain that it was Silver Spoons. I'm not saying that it's related to anything. Just if there's any dots to connect back to that show, well there you go.

The Menendez brothers were portrayed as just wanting to hit the jackpot early. But I always believed that the abuse occurred. Yeah they went crazy with the money. But I think it was more of a "We're finally free" sort of deal. A way to stick it to their parents for what happened.

I always felt bad for them and had a feeling that the press was intentionally skewing things.

  25. I definitely believe that Eric and Lyle were molested by their Dad, and maybe their Mom knew. People always ask why they seemed so carefree and happy after their deaths, and were spending their money, etc, and I just think it's because they had no feelings for their parents at that point, and were glad they were gone after what they had put them through. But that's just my theory

  26. Random, but may be worth mentioning to someone out there: the young girlfriend of Cory Haim in this (Lala Zappa) is "Lauren" in the memoir Tweak by Nic Sheff. And I totally believe the brothers were molested.

  27. Back in that time, child abuse, esp against boys by the family, was not treated like it is today. More a "spoiled brat" blame the victim mentality. Times have really changed, and if this trial were today, it may have been seen differently.

  28. I can't believe just how entwined Hollywood is as they take networking to a whole new level. It makes me appreciate that I'm not very good at networking due to my Asperger's. One of the production companies for the film, Watchers, was Carolco Pictures where Jose Menendez was the executive vice president at the time of his murder. After Carolco entered a distribution deal with TriStar Pictures, which allowed for the movie, Rambo, it then partnered up with LIVE Entertainment when Menendez was a member of the Board of Directors at the time. Then, from 1989 to the present, Carolco eventually went through a corporate restructuring, a merger, a bankruptcy, and then brand resurrection, from time to time many of its investors were giant industry players (i.e. The Walt Disney Co., New Line Cinema, MGM, Lions Gate Entertainment...just to name a few). This allowed Carolco to make films like Total Recall, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and Basic Instinct.

All in all, I can only imagine the giant industry people that Jose came across, and what possible harm that could have been similar to what was done with Corey Haim. I mean they didn't make the film, Lucas, but I'm sure Charlie Sheen fits in there somehow.

  29. The thing that makes me the most mad of this is why didn't some of these people behind the scenes that no longer have careers come forward? That stupid Lala hasn't worked in years and i'm sure a lot of people could come forward, but were they paid off not to or threatened with no work? The integrity of 90% of Hollywood is equal to pile of sh*t!!!

  30. People didn't believe the menedez brothers then just like ppl don't believe women and children now . Still. We even elect them to the Supreme Court and the whitehouse.
