The rehab need is strong with this former child actress turned adult actress with two decent hits to her credit and the impossible last name. She is a mess and I wonder who is watching her child while does the mess thing.
Yes, "the rehab need is strong with" is she telekinetically lifting lines to her nose or pulling liquor bottles across rooms? When she gets pulled over by the police does she say "These are not the drugs you are looking for" and they send her on her way?
Stevie Wonder? Ron Howard? Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Shirley Temple? Mayim Bialik? Neil Patrick Harris? Justin Bateman? Anna Paquin? Jodie Foster? Liz Taylor? Roddy McDowell? Christian Bale? Sara Gilbert? Reese Witherspoon? Veronica Cartwright? Brooke Shields? Alison Krauss? The Osmonds?
@plot or some are more obvious than others. Yes not all of them have needed rehab but for the most part a large portion of them have struggled with serious issues whether publicly or not.
A few well adjusted exceptions are just that, exceptions, not the rule. And I'd wager that they might be the few that had parents that cared about the kid more than the profit.
Mayim Bialik has written openly about how tough it was growing up in the public eye (ex: the controversial article where she claims she was spared the worst abuse because she was not "conventionally pretty"). Christian Bale has anger issues. NPH & Justin Bateman are certainly not saints but they've managed to fabricate nice guy facades. Bateman's has been showing some wear at the edges.
It's a well known fact, openly discussed by almost any childhood survivors of Hollywood that it's a rough rough place to be, but everyone deals in different ways.
hayden because her parents dont approve of the new bf. several articles about it. also she was puking over a railing, which i mean, ive done that so cant really judge much lol
Yep! Though the child stars might have unique circumstance, I don't think they are any more or less fucked up than the rest of us. It all plays out in public, for them, while the rest of us wallow in our crooked conditions anonymously.
@Plot, yes we are fked up, but if you take the entitlement with which these child stars grow up and mix it up with being fked up then its a recipe for disaster! One day everyone wants to be you, next day you are discarded like trash, it has to take a mental toll. Plus they completely neglect their education, so they dont have any other avenues to follow!

ReplyDeleteYou can add Kurt Russell to the list of child stars who didn't fuck up.
ReplyDeleteAlso Bruce Lee acted in films in China as a child before he came to the United States.
@kfitz Yeah, but were you almost 30 at the time? I mean, come on.
ReplyDelete@dorvannnn, clearly you haven’t read the KR blind regarding the 1974 TV series, the New Land, with Bonnie Bedelia. He’s no saint.
