She was good in The Man from UNCLE, but yeah, definitely not the kind of woman you leave in the house with your husband while you're out running errands.

ReplyDelete@yep, it could be ariana's obscurus or her son. we techincally never learned the horrible things that happened to her. There is no way that it would be a sibling to albus. the timeline just doesnt add up, but then again this whole movie was a clusterfuck and JK clearly didnt think of the timeline of her own damn story.
ReplyDeleteHmm, thats what I thought too. Coz he is clearly a dumbleore as when he calls the Phoenix comes at once, so he must be very powerful. Albus said after his grandfather no one in his family could summon the phoenix, yet Credence summoned and it came!
ReplyDeleteyeah the only thing that would make sense to me would be creedence being arianas obscurus because in deathly hallows it talks about how she suppressed her magic after she was attacked but that it would explode out of her and she couldnt control it. it also mentioned her being dangerous. and even if he were kendra's son, it would make him albus's half brother so he wouldnt be a true dumbledore and the phoenix would not have came to him.

ReplyDeleteI love that this turned into a Fantastic Beasts discussion. I think Credence is hosting Ariana's obscurus, technically making him a brother to Dumbledore. Grindelwald gives Credence a name, an identity, which is what he wants more than anything. Credence is now on Grindelwald's side and he can be used as a weapon to kill Dumbledore. The look on Grindelwald's face as he walked away from Credence said a lot.
ReplyDelete@Youtoo that is possible, but how will they explain it? He clearly had a mother as shown in the flashback, the lady goes down while trying to save corvus! So did the obscurus just found a host or its so powerful that it manifested as a baby? And if he is just a host then he should be dead but instead he is clearly becoming stronger with age!

ReplyDelete@yep, I don't think he has any connection to anyone other than hosting the obscurus. I think it entered him after Ariana's death. He was a baby. The ship scene takes place in 1901, making him roughly 27/28.
ReplyDeleteI think it could maybe be a Venom situation where the obscurus matches well with Credence and as he ages, he has gained more control over it. He clearly only discovered it recently because the New York attacks were new.
Ariana died at 14. I don't think she had a child.
if he is just a host, how do we explain the phoenix? It only comes to the dumbledores, as confirmed by Abus himself! Lets see what Rowling decides!
