I wrote about this a couple days ago, but nobody has guessed both people correctly yet.
This is about an evil man and one of his victims. Many of you were introduced to this evil man by a certain film. He has destroyed far more lives than is generally known.
About 4 decades ago, he set up managing child actors in another state. One of many child actors whom this evil man groomed, raped, and passed around to his friends in the entertainment business died before the age of 30, about 3 decades ago. In the years before his death, this actor worked steadily, in mostly television bit parts.

So the victim was someone in their 20's who died about 30 years ago, mostly tv bit parts.

DeleteTravolta was big the decade before this guy was 28, and he also is likely gay and would be into a dude that looked like this guy

ReplyDeleteIf it's about 3 decades ago, that puts the death around the early 90's/late 80's. I don't think Franklyn Seales works as he was in his early 20's when he started acting, nor David Rappenport. I thought of River Phoenix but he's not mostly television at all. Brandon Lee did all movies so not him either. Merritt Butrick was in his 20's for his first movie so I dont think it's him. John Erik Hexum was 26 when he died and didn't start acting until he was around 22 or so, so no dice there.
ReplyDeleteThe only one I can see possibly working is Timothy Patrick Murphy. Died in 1988 (age 29 at death).
If Enty is being vague on the whole "30 years ago/3 decades ago" thing, then I could see Jonathan Landis possibly working?
Timothy Patrick Murphy did not act until he was about 19-20 ish.
DeleteUgh, then this whole thing makes zero sense. Unless we have to look beyond 30 years, that's all that really fits I think around that time frame. :(

ReplyDeleteIf it’s Open Secret then it could be Michael Harrah who was the head of SAG young performers committe and a manager of child actors. SAG sued Amy Berg to remove all reference of SAG and Harrah. The previous blind says the guy is protected by a union.

River Phoenix was a movie star, not just a steadily working actor in mostly television bit parts.

ReplyDeleteMaybe the actor was a only a child actor in local theater or local commercials, and came to hollywood to act on TV in his 20s. So he didn't act on a national level until older?

Would have been around 1988...so really early in AIDS news.
Rock Hudson was one of first to die of AIDS in 1985 and it was shocking for both reasons, gay and HIV.
This death was likely not well publicized and not a “known” aids death.

Butrick didnt start acting til an adult, but he did attend the California Institute of the Arts for acting, but was dismissed from the school, so he may have had a manager as a teen.
They both fit.
I am not sure what "He never got to see the project that would have given him his big break." refers to for either of them, though.

ReplyDeleteSanchez fits the time line and info. I am beginning to wonder if the "child actor" thing is a red herring? I don't think starting out at 20 is considered a child actor, unless Enty is implying that that's they were trying to get into the field well before but maybe did gigs that were non "credit-worthy" according to IMDB?

ReplyDeleteMy first thought was a casting director and I couldn't remember the previous blind (also, didn't feel like going back to find it), but I do think the Timothy Patrick Murphy guess has to be close, if not it, "Murphy started his acting career as an adolescent (technically a child actor) in several television commercials", I don't know if Harrah managed kids in Connecticut.
Merritt was HIV positive. He fits.

It's sad how these stories repeat through the years. SB local & kid actor Scott Drynovich or something like that, died of AIDS in '97 & was raped by Gary Goddard! Another POS who molested & raper boys and teens!

ReplyDeleteI just looked up Timothy Patrick Murphy, as I'd never heard of him. Jesus, talk about a cursed family. He died of AIDS and his younger brother died in the 9/11 attacks.
ReplyDeleteIf he was in bit TV parts his face might actually be well know. There are many "that guy" types on TV that you see everywhere in bit parts but don't know the name of. Watch this be a super familiar face who most people can't attach a name to because he was a "that guy".
ReplyDeleteUnknown, I think it really is a child actor.I actually thought well maybe he was still playing a teen. but then he's technically not a child actor is he? Yeah. It's a tad confusing if you think f it that way. Like Ian Ziering wasn't a child actor on 90210. But he played an underage teen. People complain about that. But hey, it wouldn't have been the same Steve Sanders otherwise.
It could indeed be a red herring. And "about three decades ago" could imply it's as little as 25. It's kind of vague that way. But I think the blind is meant to be clearer than how some are seeing it.
gauloise, do you think it might be someone who had a bit part on Little House on the Prairie? Because a lot of kids were featured on the show and classmates of Mary and Laura and as general townies. If he had bit parts in the 70s I bet he may have appeared on that show like so many other bit part kids did.
