Based on Robin Wright's history, regardless of the characters she plays on TV she seems to go for relationships where she is not treated as well as she should be. Actors & actresses are also notorious for having low self esteem, so there's that.
WHICH IS TO SAY, Robin has never been one to put her personal business in the spotlight and this does not sound like something she would do. What is the financial benefit to alienating Sean Penn and putting the gory details of the parents into a book for their children to read? She doesn't need the money or the attention.
It's not Pitt and Jolie. She'd beat his ass, and she's crazy and wouldn't be able to stop. Also, he's way more likely to just get stoned than to get violent.
Nearly everyone else mentioned seems plausible to me. I'd guess Depp or Sheen though.
