Blind Item #3

This former A- list mostly television actor quit his job because he thought he was going to be a huge movie star. He might be, but it isn't going to be from his new role which he thought was a sure Oscar winner.

  3. Hamid: Another one bites the dust could also apply to Megyn Kelly at NBC who is on her way out the door permanently. No tears are being shed by her staff, believe me. Is it too early in the day for Champagne?

    1. She needs to go NOW!!!! She’s so damn rude and ignorant. I hope her staff gets to keep their jobs with the network

    2. It's the title of one of Queen's most famous songs.

  4. The reviews on the movie are really bad. Apparently, the remaining members of Queen had a lot of say on how the movie would depict all of them (in order to be allowed to use their music) and as a result, made everyone but Mercury look like choir boys. Total revisionist plot. Too bad. This could have been a great movie.

  8. I had a good 'chuckle' at this. (Am I showing my age through use of "old people" words?)

There are a lot of actors that leave hit TV shows to become "Big Movie Stars."

    Very, very few ever succeed.

So, not surprised that "...another one bites the dust!"

    =)

  10. @Boo - yes, M.K. is a goner and no, it isn't too early for champagne. Her show was horrific, as is she.

  11. Rami Malek will still get nominated for the Globe and Oscar. Everyone is praising Malek performance as incredible while the film sucks. Watch it happen. He won’t win, but he’ll get the nods.

  12. Jim Parson A Kid Like Jake movie is not getting the rave reviews he expected!

  13. I'm guessing this jukebox queen movie will make $$$'s. Malek is getting praise for his performance but the singer connection is bringing out the knives from the critics. Doubt the public will care and like the greatest showman/star is born will get repeat viewings.

  14. The Queen movie is getting tepid to outright lousy reviews. Sounds like not only was Sacha Baron Cohen the better choice for Freddie, but his instincts and ideas about the script were also much better than Queen's.

  15. Remi Malik for sure for the Queen movie. I don't get why he quit Mr. Robot. He has been great in this and the PACIFIC and maybe good in BR after all but he is pulling an Adrien Brody. Very few 'character actor' look or types become overnight mega stars. Even say a Matthew McConaughey became big bc he was eye candy cut and then change his look for a movie. RM isn't going to head up huge franchises or comedies or every fit for an Oscar contender. He is too specific in looks.

  16. Someone will hire Megyn there's all these news channels that would pay her because they would get a bigger audience that they don't have now like a Newsy. I have about 8 news channels on my system and 4 of them I never heard of. That's in addition to CNN, Fox and MSN C.

  17. He may get Golden Globe nomination--remember there are two separate acting categories, and one of them is "Musical/Comedy." If he's not nominated there, it will be a huge slight, and I hope it happens.

If there's no GG nomination, there will certainly be no Oscar nomination.

Frankly, perhaps the Hollywood pedo-power brokers would rather this movie disappear? The longer it lingers, the more likely people keep talking about Bryan Singer.

  18. @Donna

both Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born surprised everybody by submitting both Malek and Cooper as leads iN DRAMA for the GGs. now the HFPA gets to ultimately decide by Halloween, I think, or thats the submission deadline - but what what goes where HFPA ultimatey decides, but they'll probably get their way and Malek & Cooper will compete in drama (if Malek is nom'd, which it looks highly likely he'll get nom'd for both GG and Oscars)

watch people separate Malek from Fox/Singer just bc they 'want to support him!' and 'oh its so unfair singer is ruining Malek's chances!'

    whatever.

  20. Rami won't care as long as he's still getting the good drugs.

  22. Yeah, I read that nme article, but all the reviews I have seen still substantiate what I said, the movie has the wrong focus when it's focused at all. SBC had better instincts than the band did as far as what would make a good movie.

  23. the reviews love him but the film itself is PG 13 safe

  24. He's actually getting mixed reviews, and a lot are saying that he is doing a surface impression, not a fully fleshed out portrayal. Doesn't sound nom-worthy to me.
