Blind Item #2

This former A+ list writer who has not dine much since her hit books recently made some very racist statements. Considering her past actions, when it came to casting in the movies, I'm not sure why anyone is surprised.

  1. Don't know if it is JKR but, if so, the comment about not doing much is incorrect. She recently released the fourth book in her Cormoran Strike murder mystery series (under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith). All received strong reviews. Probably not as widely successful as Harry Potter but addictive none the less.

  2. I LOVED Harry Potter growing up - still a huge fan out of nostalgia - my best friend & I would find sticks in her yard to pretend were wands.

BUT people need to stop acting like everything JK says is some golden social standard, the books weren't inclusive, just what she decided to tweet about characters years later which wasn't written in.

  4. I thought of E.L. James first......

  5. E.L. James has been accused of casual racism in her work.

  6. Jk Rowling has been very inclusive in her movies so I’m not sure if this is her.

  7. Maybe Stephanie Meyer and the Twilight books??

  11. I used to think Robert Jordan wasn't very inclusive with his WoT characters. Then I realized his characters were very diverse, he just described shades of skin and physical features instead of just stating black, white, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc. Which made sense since the terms wouldn't have had meaning in his fantasy world.

  12. EL James makes more sense.

  13. I thought of ann rice too Krab. Didn't she have issues with casting for a couple of her books made into movies?

  14. A woman who used govt. benefits when she was a poor unemployed single mother, despises those on such benefits now that she is a Billionaire. She proudly wants to strip those from other poor people in similar desperate straights because she is a hateful woman. Also has shown a clear, despicable contempt for those with brown skin suffering in foreign lands. There is a reason slavey was considered somehow a good thing in the Harry Potter books.

    1. Uhm...JKR at one point lost her bilionaire status because she gave so much money to charity (16% of her fortune in fact...who can say that?).

And about benefits, she has said the following: " [...] I am indebted to the British welfare state; the very one that Mr Cameron would like to replace with charity handouts. When my life hit rock bottom, that safety net, threadbare though it had become under John Major's Government, was there to break the fall. I cannot help feeling, therefore, that it would have been contemptible to scarper for the West Indies at the first sniff of a seven-figure royalty cheque"

So basically the exact opposite of what you said...

  15. I'm addicted to JKR Comoran Strike books. No way is she an author who has "not dine much". She was also very supportive of Hermione being black in the HP stage play so i don't buy this as her.

  16. I haven’t read the Strike books, but I’ve seen the TV adaptation and loved it. I was wondering how loyal the TV adaptation was to the books.

  17. E.L. James is who came to mind. But I would put quotes, or even double quotes, around the word "writer" when referring to her.

  18. North Africans enslaved approximately two million White Europeans between the 16th and 19th centuries. It was called the Barbary slave trade and it lasted longer than the trans Atlantic slave trade, but no one ever talks about it. White Europeans were also enslaved under the Ottoman Empire. Let's not forget that the largest Empire in human history was the Mongolian Empire, which enslaved and killed approximately a third of the global population.

Why should White authors have to "diversify?" Authors from non European backgrounds don't do it. So why should either JK Rowling or EL James have to? Authors draw from their own backgrounds and experiences.

If these authors were African or Asian etc., no one would tell them to "add more White people."

It's bullshit steeped in hypocrisy because of the left-wing editing of history..

  19. The blind is about this author making a racist statement, not having all white casts in their movies.

    Wow. Just wow!

What could we have a greater effect on? The old Barbary slave trade or the racism inside our own countries?

Who the fuck cares about your severely truncated history! Today is today. No time machines are going to send you back to suffer indenture servitude (which only lasted 7 years btw) in the early colonies or die under the stashing swords of Ghengis Khan though it sounds like you want to be Saint Victim like so many other white boys.

    1. @plot why is it so wrong for others to have an opinion? You may think it's bullshit but you're one of those that considers everyone racist if they don't conform to your beliefs but actually you are a bigot. Why mention 'white boys?' Not all white boys/men are 'privileged.' White working class boys/men are more ignored then any other class or colour where I am from so your comment insults me. You may have a 'trendy' and 'popular' lefty view of the world but others are allowed a voice too.

  24. Leave it to idiot plot to play the profoundly self-unaware "Only the racist experiences of my preferred groups count, yours don't count at all" card.

Okay so you identify with Barbary slaves of hundreds of years ago? Otherwise what is the point of bringing that up?

shytlerj makes a better point that forced debt is making us all slaves at this point, but that sort of flies above your head, doesn't it.

  26. Jesus...who has not dine much? Are you taking applications for literate people or just grabbing uneducated pedophile meth addicts to write these?

  27. JK Rowling seems like a damn fine human being and until shows me ckear proof she's not then I'm going to admire her..a lot.

"you're one of those that considers everyone racist if they don't conform to your beliefs "

    Like when?

    "Why mention 'white boys?'"

Because they are the driving force behind Trump, nes pas? They are herald his racist policies, his destruction of families, his tax breaks for the already wealthy, his tariffs, his ugliness, his insanity...all so they can be victorious over aaaaaall the minorities and women who allegedly oppress them. Doubt me? Visit 4chan for a while.

"White working class boys/men are more ignored then any other class or colour"

    Case in point.

  30. Sofie - I'm sorry i guess that must have been a different JK Rowling who was actively campaigning to keep said same govt in power during the last election then? one of their signature polices being taking money from the disabled in order to pay for a taxcut for wealthy people like herself while taking a betty devos style axe to our education system. Because we know how much she values children's education don't we? So we can add liar and hypocrite to her many charms.

Sieg Heil off back to your pit. Stay away from normal people forever.

    Thanks! Bye bye!

  32. Why does using your imagination have to become political or racist? Would it have been OK if the snake was a black man’s pet or a woman’s pet?
