Why yes, that was this A- list mostly movie actress who was in danger of dropping to B+ list before landing the role she is filming, in a sex dungeon on Tuesday night. Yes, that was her taking a turn or twenty using a whip on a naked bound woman.
No way this is JLaw or ScarJo. JLaw's career is taking a hit due to a bunch of flops and a turning of the tide on her persona, but to suggest she was on her way to B+ is laughable. A- even seems laughable for her. Emma Stone is the only younger actress you could argue is a bigger celebrity than JLaw at the moment, and even that's an argument. She's dropped from A+ to A. Plus she hasn't taken on a new big role...currently only filming another X-Men that she's been contractually obligated to play for some time. ScarJo did just get a $15M deal for Black Widow but like I said, no way she was close to B+. Anybody in the Avengers franchise in a prominent role has significant cultural currency.
I bet sex dungeons smell really gut wrenchingly bad. I imagine it to be an overall BO scuzzy smell with top notes of musky jizz and strong heady base notes of vomit, piss and shit. Can anyone here confirm or deny this? 🤔
@Sal T, like tattoo parlors and piercing shops, they should ideally smell of disinfectant. If you walk into any of the three and don't smell disinfectant, do yourself a favor and walk back out.
@Brian Van - This would make perfect sense for AS until the "role she is filming"...her big comeback role was Mamma Mia 2 which is already out. She's filming a comedy right now but doesn't seem like anything huge.
zerooptions: Yes, she has--they're filming in Boston as we speak; I saw some of it last night in the South End, and, from the sound of things, they were going to be there well into the wee hours. They've been filming since 9/24 all over town; Colin Farrell (who plays her boss) has wrapped his role and headed off to his next job; haven't heard if Common (who plays her boyfriend) is in town or not, but she did shoot some scenes the first week w/John Malkovich (no idea what his character is/does). I imagine they'll be here through the rest of the month, as apparently Boston has a lot of exteriors they like. (John, incidentally, lives a low-key life in the area and is well-regarded locally; word has it he's polite, a good tipper, and even rides the subway--pretty sure I saw him once--and his daughter is friendly and well-mannered as well.)
It's seriously Hollywood on the Charles here right now, as we have at least 3, if not more, productions filming right now: in addition to Eve, there's the Greta Gerwig version of Little Women, which has been filming a lot in the Back Bay, plus whatever Mark Wahlberg is working on right now that's being filmed in Southie and Dorchester, and at least one Netflix production, if not more, that's either already here or coming soon. Little Women has been using some of the house museums in town for its shoot, along w/covering Dartmouth St. with dirt and running horse-drawn carriages over it; Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Timothee Chalamet, and Meryl Streep have all been seen either on-set or around and about. As for Mark, whatever your opinion of him may be (and people do still remember him from his misspent adolescence, along w/the rest of the family), while on set and around town he's universally known as being friendly and down-to-earth with all the local people who come to watch the fliming...then again, he wouldn't dare do otherwise in his hometown, would he? ;-)
If you've never had the chance to see actual filming, I highly recommend it, if only to dispel the notion that movie-making is somehow a glamorous business--it may have its glamorous moments, true, but the actual process of shooting a film and then putting it all together is anything but. Someone asked Charlie Watts back in the late '80s what 25 years in the Rolling Stones had been like, and his response was "5 years of actually playing, and 20 years of sitting around waiting"; from what I've seen and heard, the same holds true for everyone on a film set, from the biggest star/director/producer to the lowliest assistant. It's long, hard, tiring, and frequently boring work, and only pays well in the uppermost tiers, so why do they all keep doing it? Because they love it, that's why. Most people in the business, actors and crew alike, don't make that much money, but I've heard people I know on the lower rungs of the field say that it's something they have to do, that it's almost a calling to them, they're compelled to do it, even if the whole thing seems ridiculous to anyone else, and I don't see any reason why that wouldn't apply to those higher up in the hierarchy. What most people want in the end is for other people to enjoy and appreciate their work, and that's really not very different from any of the rest of us, eh?
