Blind Items Revealed #5

Look for this reforming band to go in an entirely different direction for their reboot. It is a permanent A list group that might be replacing the A+ list male with an A+ list female. That is the band's first choice anyway.

Love me some Ann Wilson. Chick's got massive pipes.
ReplyDeleteThat being said-- interesting concept.
Well I had the Wilson part right and a lot of the guessers had the group right, but I had LedZep and they had Stevie Nicks. I like their choice better than the Heartbreakers choice.
ReplyDeletePERFECT
ReplyDeleteLove Ann, love the Heartbreakers. But no, this is not a good idea at all. Ann should be looking to patch things up with her sister and reform Heart, and the Heartbreakers just need to move on, because Petty was the reason for the band.
ReplyDeleteSaw Heart in the 80's and boy can she sing!! Excellent choice
ReplyDeleteThey'd better come up with a new name then. INXS didn't work well with a replacement, and Queen is not Queen without Freddie Mercury.
ReplyDeleteI went to Hearts last concert when they were on tour. Ann left the stage for a bit, and my friend said she was probably taking a smoke break. I just looked at her like she was nuts and just pointed out that someone with a voice like Ann's probably doesn't smoke.
ReplyDeleteI love Heart and Stevie and the Heartbreakers.
ReplyDeleteSure miss Tom.
Heart is my jam. I'm glad I'm not alone in that one.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Tom Petty was the attraction, I'd rather see local bands do covers.
ReplyDeleteNancy Wilson still looks amazing. Definitely top of the GILF charts.
ReplyDeleteDidnt Nancy's kids and Anne have some sort of major 'police called' ruckus recently?
@Lonely Bastard, Anne 's husband beat the crap out of Nancy's kids,Anne sides with Hubby. That's why they are estranged.
ReplyDeleteQueen without Freddie Mercury is a very profitable touring act, whatever you think of their authenticity.
ReplyDeleteI saw them with Adam Lambert at Madison Square Garden and they were excellent, except for overlong solos by both Brian May and Roger Taylor.

ReplyDeleteNot a good idea. Not a slight on Anne's talent but that band was Tom Petty.
ReplyDeleteI'd be more intrigued by a Page/Wilson tour tbh
They should get Lucinda Williams. Ann Wilson is badass but does not fit at all. Lucinda would be seamless.
ReplyDeleteLove the Lucinda Wililams idea!
ReplyDeleteIf Ann Wilson takes over for Tom Petty (or Stevie Nicks or Lucinda Williams), I will be fine with it if they come up with a new name--new band, new identity, etc. But I doubt they will, any more than what's being passed off as "Fleetwood Mac" did.

ReplyDeleteI find the Ann idea intriguing but Holy Shit Lucinda would truly rock the Heartbreakers more in the style of Petty.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea, but they are both old as dirt. Do the same type of music circa 1977...I actually think it is a good match.
ReplyDeleteI prefer Ann to Lucinda. I've seen both in person
ReplyDelete70s Heart rules. 80s Heart sucked. I used to feel bad about thinking that, but then I saw Ann Wilson say they sucked in the 80s too (interference from idiot music industry execs) so now I'm proud that I hate 80s Heart.
ReplyDeleteI love Ann Wilson but this doesn't seem like a good match to me. I could see her fronting Zeppelin, but this just seems like oil and water.
ReplyDeleteI don't care much for Nicks but she has a vocal range that would seem to be more of a fit the Heartbreakers style of playing
Ann had a gastric bypass and was given some shit about adopting children because she had a rocknroll lifestyle. She's defo got some chops, but Tom Petty didn't have chops - so...
ReplyDeleteAnn Wilson could read the phone book and it’d sound better than most of today’s singers! Not sure she’s the best fit for the Heartbreakers, but she’s such a force of nature, I’d absolutely give it a listen!
ReplyDeleteTom Petty is irreplaceable
ReplyDeleteStill think it's Ann but with Soundgarden as the band.
ReplyDelete+1 bowler_chick This actually seems a better fit to me.
ReplyDeleteSo glad this is 100% Stevie Nicks free.
ReplyDeleteEither Ann or Lucinda or both fronting the Heartbreakers would be worth me checking out.
