I think this was a pr blitz by idris elbas team! Coz the next movie has already been delayed, so if they are thinking about casting next bond the movie will come out at the earliest in 5 years! Michael b anthony will be a much better choice than edris elba!

Absolutely, but it still isn't going to happen. James Bond has always been an Englishman, and any deviation from that would suck.

People don't seem to realise that in the books, Bond was blond. Tall and blond. I do however love Idris Elba. Think he can be very suave. I think they need new blood for Bond. He needs to be sexy yet more charismatic next time.

ReplyDeleteNobody seemed to care that the white guys who played Bond mostly had dark hair, were totally different physical types, and were variously Irish, Scottish, or Welsh. Let's not act like there's a sacred archetype for Bond.
ReplyDelete@cat Sean Connery was around 52 when he did Never Say Never Again, and Roger Moore was about 56 when he did View To a Kill. It's BULLSHIT to say that Idris is too old to play Bond.

ReplyDeleteThis is not racism. James Bond has always been a white British actor. If you want to racebend or genderbend an iconic character, that is what fanfic is for. Go wild. Idris is a hot, talented guy and I'd happily watch him in a spy franchise - but his own, original character. Not James Bond.

ReplyDeleteThe push is on to make Bond black (or a woman) because the masses have rejected SJW spies and the last-ditch effort from the stupid social engineers now running Hollywood is to co-opt Bond himself, since all the "XXX" sequels and "Atomic Blond" were big flops. Same way they ruined "Star Wars" by emasculating the male stars, and "Wrinkle In Time" by cutting out its faith-based roots and turning it into an Oprah-ized "you go Grrrrl!" luciferian shadow-fest.
ReplyDeleteIdris Elba deserves a franchise that isn't those wretched giant robot motion pictures, and he would be suave and debonair as a spy. Just not James Bond. Can Elba launch a franchise (or Charlize) that doesn't have a fan-base already established for the virtue signaling hypocrites of Hollywood to exploit? Probably not.
