Blind Item #8 - Guess The Athlete

This athlete is not at the pinnacle of their sport. This athlete is not well known. This athlete will never be the best in their sport. This athlete is about to become a major name and cross over star.

How can that be? This athlete is one of the most genetically gifted people walking the planet and is extremely marketable. The higher ups in their respective sport know this and higher ups at every major sports apparel companies know this. Hollywood people know this. At the end of the day, sports is a money game. And this athlete is going to make a lot of people a lot of money in the next few years. This athlete will seemingly come out of nowhere, and then be everywhere. And the higher ups will be laughing their way to the bank.

  1. So which direction are we going with "genetically gifted?"

  2. I'm feeling more female athlete on this one, nobody wants to buy shoes or cereal from a male athlete just because he's man pretty.

  3. @Brsydon.
I don't know about that. David Beckham did more than alright on good looks and a no better than mediocre talent. Christ he's maybe the most famous in the States and I doubt he would would have ever troubled the top fifty of footballing talent even in his prime. Great with a free kick or in a underwear and, and that's it.

  4. 'most famous FOOTBALLER'
Goddamn this no edit thing on here!

  5. Sounds like a college or HS athlete

  6. 'Underwear AD'

Shit, Enty, okay your use of grammar and prose is rudimentary and laughably dogshit, but thats no excuse for your comment section to be the same.

    And sorry Br'A'yson, not Brsyson.

  7. Flashy vic - Beckham at his peak wasn't even top three at his club, man united(schmiechel, scholes, giggs and keane were better) but the boy knew how to promote thanks to his pop star wife and a good agent.

  8. The blindest of blinds.

    1. This blind is so vague, it could be “revealed” a year or two from now to be about any athlete currently getting a lot of endorsements based on their looks.

  9. A male athlete generally has to be at the top of his sport to be highly marketable. Beckham is a very rare exception; I can't think of another one. This is someone who "will never be the best at their sport," and yet will be highly marketable, especially for clothing lines. That says gorgeous female athlete to me. Like a new Anna Kournikova, for instance.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Flashy Vic is 100% right - man-pretty can go from sports to commercials to movie star to politician, who knows but the road is paved in gold.

Let's hope whomever this is they are smart enough to protect their own interests along the way. Sounds like a pretty lucky person aside from that.

If this blind was about a woman, there would have been SOME sort of sexual component, even if just a commentary on what she looks like or who she appeals to or who she has to bang to get famous, you know it's not a female.

  11. The Kansas City Chiefs QB Mahomes. Although not generally well-known probably doesn't fit after his first 3 weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Madison keys in tennis?? She’s not gorgeous but I could see her being marketable.

  13. Also, as an athelete, "genetically gifted" could mean they are extremely good at physical things like complex fighting sequences or extremely fast/accurate *something* - think of Bruce Lee and how fast he could move they had to slow cameras down to capture him.

That was a genetic gift combined with practice and work on Bruce Lee's part. Look at Swartzenegger and The Rock - maybe not 100% genetics but they've been fun to watch and look at and are very valuable in the entertainment field.

Lou Ferrigno is another excellent example of a genetically different person who made it work out.

  14. Sage Northcutt, UFC

  15. WWE buying another athlete to do fake wrestling? If so, you've plummeted my interest and ungathered my attention. I'm tired of it at this point.

Northcutt isnt the best fighter though. I guess he could be marketable because of the way he looks, but so could cody garbrandt. Khabib is " genetically gifted" and unless you really watch UFC, not too many people know who he is but i dont see how he would be marketable because hes a really low profile type of guy.

    1. What does him not being the best have to do with anything? The blind says the athlete isn't at the pinnacle of his sport and never will be.

  17. Paige Van Zant is a good guess. She's beautiful, not the best female MMA fighter, won Dancing with the Stars once, and should be marketable.

    ReplyDelete
  18. There have been a lot of rumors about Cris Cyborg going to the WWE to fight Rousey.

    ReplyDelete
  19. MMA is the WWE of a new generation.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Paige Van Zant was originally a Muay Thai fighter and definitely the top of her sport there

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ugh, scratch that. I got her confused with Tiffany Van Soest

  22. Who's got REALLY big pert tits?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anonymous9:46 AM

sage is definitely genetically gifted though. his dad was successful too, but i dont consider him "coming out of nowhere." Maybe Mickey Gall, or probably someone from some other sport that I know nothing about.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Paige was never top of Women's Muay Thai nor is she genetically gifted in MMA. Highly marketable however.
Sage is genetically gifted and very marketable. With harder work and the right couching he could rise to the tops with no doubt.
    @hunter - spot on points.

  25. Anonymous9:52 AM

Im pretty sure Sage trains with American Top Team, or at least Urijah Faber.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous9:53 AM

Paige is trying to do more reality shows and books after her ESPN fight in jan/feb. those dates might be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm guessing this is like a tennis player or something. So vague, but must be a marketable sport.

Wish there were more hints on the sport or the gender of the subject.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "Genetically gifted" could be a matter of size, not just looks.

    Height, maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not Northcut, he could be a champ someday and has done commercials so he is somewhat known. Paige was a Dancing with the Stars, she is known and has done commercials and wrote an autobiography.

  30. I’m thinking more along the lines of a female figure skater. Don’t know who though

    ReplyDelete
  31. Golfer Paige Spiranac

    Massive Instagram following

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ahh, the old "Anna Kournikova Effect". Whoever it is should be careful not to Bosworth-Tailspin.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Nate

yep, this is one of those postdate blinds that are constructed so generically it will likely fit any rising athlete that will inevitably break onto the scene.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Eugenie Bouchard

    ReplyDelete
  35. +1 Sandybrook

You took the words out of my mouth. I saw his interview on FOX yesterday before the game. He is small, at least compared to others. He has light skin, curly brown hair, and blue eyes. He will appeal to all races. His voice is funny but he spoke well.

    ReplyDelete
  36. too vague. Like another poster already said - now any athlete that breaks out can be said to be the subject of this blind.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm going with Tim Tebow.
Great college football player who couldn't make it in the NFL, switched to baseball where he is never going to be more than a minor leaguer. Good looking, buff, huge fan base, namerecognition. I may be wrong, I could see it being Tebow.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think "This athlete is not well known" is another important clue.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yup, Genie. Just went with Yonex and some sports bra company. More to follow.

    ReplyDelete

  40. Not Eugenie Bouchard, she has been top 5, made the Wimbledon final, is well known and though she has a pretty face her body is not anything special, she is like Amber Heard's less attractive younger sister.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Efe Obada, defense player for the Panthers. First player from the NFL pathways program to have a starting job. Forced 3 fumbles yesterday. He will be good but his backstory is very important, especially in this day in age. Very good looking and well versed. He will do a lot in the fight against human trafficking.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I like Sandybrook's guess that sports kid - I looked him up - he's nice looking. God people are young these days.

If he is well spoken then more power to him - we constantly need new media personalities ("need") and we DEFINITELY need to keep reminding Americans how to conduct themselves so good for him. Nobody's saying he sold his soul to the devil.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Steven Adams (Basketball)

    ReplyDelete
  44. tim tebow, the baseball player version. I'm thinking they'll promote him to the majors, even though he really doesn't have the talent for it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think Anne is on the right track guessing a celebrity offspring. Genetically gifted hints at the parents.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sydney McLaughlin- I'm fairly confident. humor me so I may explain.

There was a similar blind on here back in March about an athlete who was one of "the most genetically gifted athletes walking the earth today" for NOT doping in one of the dirtiest sports there is, who was also NOT expected to go far in the sport, who is approaching their prime and setting records, while still being unknown. There were other clues, too. Here is the link to OP: http://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2018/03/todays-blind-items-guess-athlete-double.html

I guessed track and field star/hurdler Sydney McLaughlin, apparently incorrectly for that blind. But she fits that one and this one too. She is genetically gifted because a) she is gorgeous, especially because so many female t & f athletes are masculine looking and b) does not dope at all and lives quite a wholesome lifestyle c) is YOUNG. she was only 16 yrs old and in high school when she shocked everyone at the olympic trials to qualify for a spot on the 2016 Olympic team, beating out Kori Carter, who was the hurdler everyone expected to go and d) is incredibly talented, having one of the greatest prep careers in track and field history and at her first year on the team at university of KY, breaking all kinds of records

THIS FITS because she is NOT a household name. She is not yet at the pinnacle of her sport because she keeps GETTING BETTER since she just turned 19 yrs old in august. She is extremely marketable because she is female, athletic, beautiful, young, I think bi-racial (her dad is black, not sure about her mom, but sydney can be claimed by everyone lol she is ethnically ambiguous). Look at her instagram to see how marketable she is: https://www.instagram.com/sydneymclaughlin16/?hl=en . Enty says she is going to look like she is coming "out of nowhere because since my last glowing post about her in march, she has decided to turn PROFESSIONAL and forego her remaining 3 yrs of college eligibility (she was offered a pro career prior to college, but wanted to go to college instead). The reason Enty mentions the money game and "Hollywood knows this" is because it was announced this summer (although kind of under the radar) that she got SIGNED TO WILLIAM MORRIS ENDEAVOR, so obviously, she is going to become a big star, at least in terms of recognition and becoming household name. See: https://www.flotrack.org/articles/6234635-sydney-mclaughlin-signs-with-top-talent-agency-william-morris-endeavor

TO TOP IT OFF, this describes her because although not yet at her pinnacle, she will never be the best at her sport is because SHE DOES NOT AND WILL NOT DOPE and i happen to have a little inside info on that. VOILA. sydney mclaughlin, final answer. (p.s. she really is a very sweet, humble person who works incredibly hard and has very strong character and self-determination and she truly deserves all the opportunities coming her way.)

    ReplyDelete
  47. p.s.s. - she has a little clip on IG of an old interview outtake where she jokingly turns around and does a cutesy "cover girl" line and pose. I WONDER if she will sign on to be new face of CoverGirl (lawd knows they need one) and the PR spin will make it seem like CoverGirl just stumbled upon that little clip and want to offer it to her (and she will feign excitement/surprise) but really she has had a deal (secretly) for some time? Just a guess.

  48. I’m going with Trevor Lawrence, true freshman QB of Clemson. He’s getting his first start this weekend vs Syracuse at home. The buzz about him is HUGE... and he’s gorgeous to boot. They’re predicting big things for him already based on what they’re seeing in practice and going in every so often for a few plays.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Could be that one handed linebacker.
Could also be that 14 year old who broke Michael Phelps record earlier this year.

  50. Anyone else recall Enty posting this exact blind a few months ago?
