Blind Item #8 - Dancing Boy Blind Item

I've been having quiet times lately, trying to get to a grounded (and not kinda-sorta sober but completely so) place, and work through the material for the first dancing boy stage play (which I think I've now figured out, btw - splain later; it's a trilogy in the mode of not just epic theatre but Greek tragedy, with a one act introduction [just like the ancient Greek cycles]).

I'm extremely saddened to learn just now of the death of someone I knew in college a few months back (see my most recent tweet). What I said was true: the reason I looked him up was that I'd just begun writing a part for him in the dancing boy saga.

Also, did you see who my most recent follower is? Guess I'll be writing him into this thing too.

  2. Just had a BLT with tomatos from my garden. It was scrumptious.

  3. Not all of us are on the tweeter, DB, so those clues are lost on me.

Same, Jennifer, think I'll treat myself to some Chipotle today :)

  5. These blinds are just some old drunk's stream of consciousness blog now, aren't they.

  6. It's food truck Wednesday by my office, so I have an unusually wide scope of options. Might go full on smorgasbord!

  7. Move over, Aeschylus.

  8. Less manic ..not so downward spiraling I really think DB should consider an inpatient approach because he's still delusional ..maybe if he actually talked to police and a real therapist instead of shoe biz pill mills he could release so real demons and make himself the hero he so desperately tries to sell on stage..another failed child star clinging to the past

  9. You guys realise there is a FB podcast group too?

  10. @Lonely Bastard, LOL! It IS very James Joyce-ish. I am craving macaroni & cheese in the worst way, since it is fall, and rainy today. However - I guess I will just eat the crappy yogurt I brought to work.

  11. I was thinking of Chipotle too, although it's a gamble there, never get the beans lol.

  12. Richard Swift, 41 died in July. From an indie band. I wonder. Son's of Anarchy have lost another cast member who was writing his own stuff. Suspected heart attack.

@Lonely.- yeah, something like that. It went from exposing those guilty to some strange sort of therapy to what seemed like a practice pitch to get investors or a bizarre marketing plot, but now...I lost interest in the plot, as it seems to be back to some strange sort of therapy.

I hope he exorcizes those demons, but I'm not going further than reading the occasional blind, I'm not following on Twitter or anything else. I'm here out of a mild habit, at best, since I've landed on "most of the blinds are pure bullshit" and I just read for sheer entertainment. Call it a casual guilty pleasure with coffee.

  20. I'm hungry for Greek food suddenly.

  21. Ok, I looked up the twitter and it's this guy...

    Total obscure one-indie-almost-hit wonder.
But 90s indie geek that I am, I've actually heard of him. The band was on a CMJ compilation in the 90s. But I had not heard about the death.

  23. Filmffanb I encourage you to heat up some tomato soup with that cheese sammitch.
It's good the DB troll encourages us to eat on a regular schedule like this.

  24. Free firehouse sub paid for by the county (did my volunteer work today) leftover from one of the county building inspectors who did not show up for the meeting held where I work. Works for me!

  25. Sandybrook- Just had a sourdough toasted cheese and tomato soup the other day. I’m usually gluten-free but can tolerate long fermented sourdough pretty well. Probably TMI But really, I have missed the DB blinds b cause I like finding out what delicious-ness you are having for lunch. 😊

  26. Sara 😊 Thank you, I was too lazy too look it up.
Amy 😊 Richard Swift passed away in the shitty little town I live in. Poor guy. RIP

  27. These posts monotonous posts are beginning to put Tolstoy to shame.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @LA Native, I've never had firehouse subs. Are they any good?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey, don't dis Tolstoy! There's a reason he's one of the greatest--OK, I skipped the battle scenes in "War and Peace" too.

    1. @Adrastia,
He did say he's nearly sober, so that makes a difference.

  31. @Shaddup Mimsey I’m not overly impressed. The meat isnt high quality and rather tasteless. I cant complain as it was free but I think you’d be better off at Publix or even *gasp* Subway.

  32. About this cheese sandwich and tomato soup thing...I used to do tuna sandwiches (with cheese) in my tomato soup. Anybody else do tuna and tomato soup?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've done tuna melts with a cup of tomato soup.
Thanks Donna, I do try to eat well. Eating good is one of my favorite things to do. Not francy, just good.

  34. leftover beef and bean tacos.

  35. Jimmy John's Jersey Mike's for chain sammitches.

  36. @LA Native, yes, I do love a Publix sub. @sandybrook, I've heard bad things about the owner of Jimmy Johns so I won't eat there.

    1. Yup, that guy definitely sucks. Also treats employees pretty badly.

  37. Thanks Sandy. I see Jimmy John has unwiches, might try sometime now. And I like your food style. I’m preparing potato salad and barbecued ribs here today, we are having a beautiful fall day. The ribs were mis-priced at the Fred Meyer this morning for 7 cents. It’s a mitzvah!

  38. 😂 someone got fired!
Jersey Mike's is better anyway Mimsey. They use Ameroso breads for the subs so they have good bread and the meat is ok, the condiments are fresh.

    ReplyDelete
  39. You guys crack me up! I had a protein bar. Tryin to get skinny...

  40. I'm glad you're trying, DB, and while mostly sober isn't as good as totally sober, it's better than nothing. Sorry about your friend. Instead of setting you back, this should inspire you to get your story told while there's still time. Life is short and can end quite suddenly, so it's best to make your mark now rather than be lost to time. Good luck, I'm one of the few people on here that's rooting for you.

  41. Good luck Dancing Boy,condolences on the loss of your friend. Still looking forward to seeing how CDAN fits in with this. all of you out there know losing a friend from college of childhood is tough, even if you didn't stay in touch.

  42. You dropped the ball today Chipotle, how do you f*ck up chips? Those things were like rubber, not crisp at all, had to throw them away.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Jersey Mike's subs are so good! Number 4

    ReplyDelete
  44. My british mom put tomatoes in her mac & cheese, and a fried egg on top of chef boy r d spaghetti. Always shooting for more nutrition. And we had no fast food or snacking between meals, so we ate it!

    ReplyDelete
  45. and I'm not understanding this DB blind. The blinds in which he mentions the afghani physician, I have some comprehension.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Brought a sandwich of leftover bits of roast beef, but now I'm craving Chipotle, Ophelia. :)

  47. DB, could you do a 4 paragraphs summary of the whole DB story? We'll let you know if it makes any sense and worthy of a play.
