Blind Item #5

While the military is at it, they might want to a drug test because there is a whole lot more in the system of the celebrity CEO than just pot. Way more. I bet they don't test him though. I bet they just let him slide right by and wave as he goes by on his underground train that costs $1 to ride. I wonder f any of those were built in a place that didn't ask for permission. Where else could one really want an underground high speed train that travels a relatively short distance. This one could actually pay for itself.

  1. Who could this possibly be?¿??????????????

  2. At this point Hedge and Entern you'd probably want him to stay as CEO because if he's replaced by someone stable, there will be less uncertainty in the leadership of the company and more possibility your short price never gets reached.

  3. I am not sure what the last few lines mean but I will guess it means that Musk is building tunnels and trains for the Mexican cartels? Who else needs tunnels that only go short distances? Must be great for transporting people, weapons, drugs, money, etc.

  4. Is this implying something, like human trafficking? Isn't the reason LA doesn't have underground mass transit in the first place because, you know, earthquakes?

  5. It's more like what Nor Cal said drug trafficking from Central America. Like the tunnel they just found in New Mexico or Arizona that went into Mexico. However at present he hadn't built any tunnels anywhere, he wants to build something from Washington to Boston that is faster than Amtrak. And he wants to build something to get from downtown LA to the sports stadiums.

You beat me to that thought!
    Vegas to groom lake.
It sure beats having the conspiracy watchers keep an eye on that plane
as it leaves and arrives each day.

Oh, for fucks sake. Show us on the dolly where Elon touched you, dude. You sound like a jealous ex on these blinds. OH NOES an adult smoked pot, like that's so rare - what is this, the 30's, and he's going to be consumed by the DEVIL WEED? Give it a fucking rest already.

  10. First of all, the Air Force has already confirmed that this is not an issue for them, and that they weren’t looking into him at all, just looking into how to answer the media requests they got about him.

Secondly you know he only has one very short prototype tunnel and another one under construction atm right? And the finished one took like a year to construct? And there’s no pods being used or even created yet? And that the tunnels aren’t for a train, but for cars and pods. And that the ‘train’ (Hyperloop) idea is still just an idea being tested in various ways and doesn’t exist in a form humans can currently use to travel?

But you’re trying to tell us he has a secret, fully functional tunnel with a Hyperloop inside? Sure, that seems legit.

  11. This is the time to close out that short, Enty.

You won't, of course. But you really should.

  12. Deep underground bunkers/underground tunnels for transport have existed for decades.

It's been secret military tech. Musk is just the figure who is bringing advanced military research and development to the civilian and business worlds.

Think about this, the military can't just admit they have secret bases/tubbells until underground stuff goes mainstream

  13. I think Gabe and Enty must really bond over their Elon obsession. His personality isn't my cup of tea, but these blinds are a bit much.

  14. I bet Musk tried to get into Enty and Gabe's pants, that's the only explanation for so much shade and jealousy.

  15. Mayor Tiny Dancer of Chicago wants to pay Musk enormous sums of money to build a train tunnel from downtown Chicago to O'hare airfield. We already have line running the same direction. The Musk line will cost five times the amount to ride and is only 10 minutes faster. If Musk rebuilt Miegs Field, he would accomplish the same task at a far less cost. ...Unless saving money is not the goal.

  16. @flyintiger Rahm quit the mayoral race. He's endorsed no one. It's a wide open field for the first time in decades. Musk and any plans he had are out.

  17. Musk is trying to build that tunnel from somewhere in west LA to a sports stadium. Could be that.

  19. Yup! Cartels and Mexico. Wow! There's certainly incentive.

  20. Why aren't there any plans to build these tunnels in places where there is industry but tons of snow during the year where above ground travel gets impacted, like Boston, Connecticut to New York. If you wanted to test whether or not it worked, it seems like a no brainer, super easy to demonstrate the productivity increase and therefore profitability, super outdated lines. Seems like a no brainers. I think its all a fiction in his head to just inflate the stock- a little "hey what a cool idea" that will never go anywhere. Otherwise he would be thinking strategically (oh, and no constant earthquakes)

A nuclear tunnel boring machine was first patented in 1972.

It was definitively used in 1982 in Nevada

  22. Guesser: It's not true that you can't have safe and efficient underground public transportation if the area is earthquake prone. Tokyo is in a country with many earthquakes yet Tokyo has a wonderful subway system. (To be fair the public transportation systems and buildings are built according to strict codes and there are safety procedures in case of an earthquake.)
The notion that LA doesn't have a underground mass transit because California sometimes gets earthquakes is either false, or a lazy excuse.

  23. always get a kick out of the Musk defenders here. I hope he's at least paying you all, but based on how he treats his workers, it's doubtful.

  24. The military, the CIA, NSA, FBI is no longer interested in weeding out the pot smokers.

They aren't interested in policing the habits of their contractors, either, if they pass a security clearance.
