Blind Item #15

Everyone knows there are ghostwriters for sings or books, but no one ever stops to think there are ghostwriters for cookbooks too. I know she talks a good game, but 95% of the new book was bought and paid for from someone else.

  4. I think it's Teigen, too. Reviews are saying the book is much different than the first one. I have the first one but I'm holding out to learn more about this new one.

  5. Yeah, my bet's on Chrissy Teigen too

  6. I will go with the Meghan guess, but I bet the others are as well, maybe just not the whole thing.

  7. Markle didn't write the recipes. The women of Hub Community Center did. That is the whole point of it. Read the description.

  8. The fact that there are baking recipes in it raised my eyebrow as Teigen has stated on the record that she hates to bake. Which horrifies my cooking soul but whatevs. Rachael Ray says the same thing. Teigen's first cookbook was such a major seller I'm sure she is feeling the heat to produce a follow up.

  9. How about that old fraud Pioneer Woman who has been stealing recipes from the beginning?

Just thought i'd drop a link to my favourite chef.

  11. Ok,this is probably Teigen. Too many baking recipes. But maybe she wasn't able to meet a deadline or whatever, baby, ppd. Anyone who buys a celebrity cookbook thinking they are a world class chef needs a reality check. Remember Jessica Seinfeld? Stolen, not ghost written.

  12. Plot, I don't think Pioneer Woman steals recipes, I think she tweaks family style recipes. Most of what she does is just generally known stuff. People go wild for it because it's easy, & her folksy manner.

  13. This could be any of those celebrity chefs from Valarie Bertanelli, Trisha Yearwood, or Patricia Heaton. Or Tiegen or Steph Curry’s wife. None of these people were known for cooking and it’s different from being a home cook to selling a cookbook.

  17. Chrissy Tiegan is the Queen of Phony Baloney. She's a righteous, hypocritical SNOB.

  18. Reese Witherspoon. For Meghan Markle's book, it looks like she only contributed the forward.

  19. @Angela

Way back when, there was a blog that criticized PW, hilariously too, that tracked down both her stolen recipes and her stolen craft projects from other sites. Not to say that this kind of internet theft hasn't gone on since 2000 or so, but PW steals all sorts of shit for her site.

  20. Teigen and her big arrogant foul mouth....She’s not funny at all she’s obnoxious

  21. PW is rich as fuck and leases a bunch of land to the government. I wonder what really goes on there.

  22. All chefs/ cookbook authors take recipes from others and tweak them or use them as is and call them their own.

    Teigen’s annoying and overexposed

    ReplyDelete
  23. I wonder how many labels the Pioneer Woman had to peel off cans of beans and jars of cheez-whiz for the recipes on the back?

  24. I love celebrity chef tea.

I met Giada a few years ago and she was amazing. Really nice to her fans.

I met Anthony Bourdain and he was completely miserable. Completely killed my adoration for him. I am so saddened by his suicide but I can't say I am surprised. When seeing him perform live and meeting him afterwards he seemed very depressed to me and off. I absolutely hate how the last couple years of his life went.

Anyway, fascinating deets on the Pioneer Woman. I don't watch her but it's interesting, nonetheless.

  28. I've never liked Pioneer Woman. That Food Network promoted her so heavily turned me off from the network as well. I watch shows like "Dining With the Chef" that features Japanese cooking, and "Scandinavian Cooking". I also like their "In The Americas" series that they show during afternoons and on weekends. Oh, and Kevin Belton's New Orleans cooking show is good.

  30. More than likely it's Tiegen. Celebrities don't know how to formulate a recipe the way a trained chef can. They know how to cook and may give the ideas for the recipes, but someone else definitely writes them.

  31. Do Americans cook properly again? (genuine question) For a long time online US recipes were almost exclusively of the '...pour over can of soup, then sprinkle with crumbled potato chips...' variety. And I thought the Brits had a bad rep!

  32. Everything you need to know about what kind of person John Legend is, you can find looking at his wife's personality.
Only an utter weak Beta male could stand to be married to such ignorant, narcissistic and hideous obnoxiousness.

  33. It's Tiegen. She once attacked me on twitter for asking if she did all that cooking herself, her answer was that she was pregnant so of course she doesnt. If she cant cook when preganant, it not only judges women who have to her attack seemed a bit, self centered? She is a sham and not a nice person.

  34. PW married into a wealthy landowning family. Her husbands family has been ranching for generations

  35. Remember when Jerry Seinfeld's wife ripped off an entire cookbook of healthy eating for kids? Then Jerry went on talk shows and mocked the original author? So when the case went to court everybody remembered Jerry Seinfeld mocking her, and she lost her case?

Stealing cookbook content is nothing new for celebrity criminals and plagiarists.

  36. Seriously, for whomever it is, recipes are everywhere. My recipe for deviled eggs is the same one that Trista Yearwood put out. Recipes are hardly a monopoly.
As for Meghan Markle, she merely supported the cookbook and put her name to it in order to increase its audience, which it did and sells worldwide-which it would not have happened otherwise.
    I applaud her for that.

  37. Curiously, I like Teigen. Don't know why but also don't follow her more than to catch a glimpse now and then.

Yep, Pioneer Woman's husband's family is enormously wealthy. They built her the show studio in a guest house. They sponsored her trips and publications.

Yes, the PW family makes most of it's enormous fortune leasing land to the federal government. The cattle stuff is more a hobby for them, which is pretty obvious from the lack of ranch hands on the property that it usually takes to maintain cattle. What this means is that PW's contentions that her children are homeschooled so they can participate in the family business are all a big damn lie. The make the children wake before dawn for photo ops, not because the kids are doing much for cattle or the family business. What we know of PW's homeschooling is atrocious (since she hates math, she ensures so will her children by skipping it many days or commiserating with their hatred.) PW found a nifty way to teach her children not to be racist! Buy them interracial toys and dolls! Problem solved!

I guess a couple of the kids are in college now, OK State down the road or somewhere equally challenging. All the social benefits PW had as a young woman, the daughter of a doctor, she has eliminated for her own kids - like moving to LA, going to school there and working - so they can contribute to the narrative of her Pioneer Woman brand and enjoy being country slackers (no better than Manhattan trust fund kids) on the family properties.

She's such a fucking ditz, on purpose, so the people love her. Ugh, can't stand her.

  38. Don't forget the kids books PW "writes". The Charlie the Ranch Hound series is huge.
And no real "country farm girl" is going to use cheap knock off cookware and peddle it at Wal-Mart. She's a character and marketing gimmick. No more real than Hello Kitty.

  39. There's absolutely nothing remotely interesting about Pie Faced Teigen so this is not in the least bit surprising.

  40. I love Chrissy Tiegen. Not saying she's not a bitch, but as she'd say...fuck you all.

  41. On the second chapter of Bourdain's book, Medium Raw. Second chapter and already he's talking about continual thoughts of suicide. No one killed him. He wasn't murdered.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Apparently, Chrissy’s credited co-writer moved into their home during the writing of her first and second cookbooks. Just throwing that out there...

  43. @Plot, exactly as I feel about that woman. You got all the important details in. Every one of them.
