ReplyDelete@Amartel, I think calling it "yachting" is a response to people, especially young women, being inundated with all these selfies and pics of celebrities and IG models lounging around on yachts like it's something to aspire to, the good life. When in reality they're being paid to be used worse than the restroom at Taco Bell.

ReplyDeleteBrayson, I'll have to take your word on what regular whores get up to at the client's home - ;) - but the point is the pretense implicit in "yachting." Regular prosties are not called "bed loungers" or "couch ornaments" or "home entertainers." They're prostitutes or whores. Calling this "yachting" rather than prostitution makes it seem better and more wholesome. Like, gee, maybe we're just really into sailing. It's classist and pretentious. Like some prostitution is better because it occurs on some feckwit's yacht.

ReplyDeleteI think the "yachters" are differentiated from "prostitutes" by the fact that they are "celebrities" who have "careers" (i.e. actress, model, singer etc.) Needless to say I am defining celebrity and career using the lowest possible standards.
