Blind Items Revealed #3

August 14, 2018

This barely hanging on company conspired with a studio to make sure a movie was number one this past week. Apparently that is how it is going to make its money from now on.

  2. Well the Meg has grossed $300 million worldwide it can't all be Moviepass it's also got 91% favorable rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Maybe people just want to see mindless escapist entertainment now or an actual movie like Crazy Rich Asians instead of cartoons or Marvel Comics movie franchises Entern?

  3. It's been getting harder for Jason Statham to get roles.
I wonder what he is been really up to...

  4. I still don't understand how this would work.

  5. haha clearly Enty isn't a fan of big sharks or Statham and can't fathom that it's successful because it's actually an entertaining action flick, perfect for the end of the summer.

So collusion must be at play!

  6. Movie pass might have helped (opened at 40m+ and 20m+ the second week) but more than half of its current gross comes from over seas (230m+ atm)

Even a "meh" monster movie can still be fun to see at the theater and not much else is out atm. That alone might have more to so with it (as well as word of mouth)

  7. It's a f*cking shark movie during the summer, it's not a stretch to think it could do well on its own. Actually I should go see it, giant shark might be extra fun on the big screen.

  8. @Kron Are you kidding me? He may not be up for Oscars, but he's got a huge career and he's doing the Fast & Furious spinoff series with The Rock, which is a guaranteed blockbuster series.

    1. I don't know abt him having huge career. I have totally forgotten abt Statham until this movie. Tbh he is quite forgettable these days. Too many up-coming actors now.

  9. What bullshit this blind item is. The Meg opened when MoviePass was going through its black out stages...and the movie wasn't even available on Movie Pass the first week of release. Makes me wonder how many of these items are flat out lies
