The organizers of this event are getting a lot of push back for their decision to play sounds of loud gunfire at a huge concert event. They did it during a set which really freaked people out because they had no idea where it was coming from.

aside from being controversial/outrageous, i don't know what you get from this? how does this elevate the experience for anyone?
ReplyDeleteYou mean the sounds you hear from a regular US high school?
ReplyDeleteWho the fuck had that bright idea? bet it wasn't Perry Farrell!!
ReplyDeleteWho would pay $335 for this shit
ReplyDeleteI would think after Las Vegas they'd try to veer away from that kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteSound effects? It’s Chicago!
ReplyDeleteAnd the Vegas Shooter from Last October 1, had scouted Lollapalooza/Chicago last year before doing it at the Mandalay bay Resort!
ReplyDeleteIdiots!
Gosh how avante garde and original. I'd love to be in that audience. Why, I'd whip out Mr Meat's colostomy bag and pretend that we'd both shat our pants in fear/excitement. These producers love a bit of audience participation.
ReplyDeleteWas walking down Michigan Ave the Friday of Lollapalooza. One, the kids are even younger. Two, the kids are even stupider. Three, these female kids have to learn how to cover themselves. Four, the male kids have to learn how to have a normal conversation. Five, I’ve become the old man bitching about tourists and kids.
ReplyDelete@Martin, You know you're geezing when you think, how could those parents let their kids out of the house dressed like that. Nevermind that when you were that age you had piercings and your girlfriends showed more skin at the mall than beach volleyball players.
ReplyDeletewas it that sweet middle eastern man with a murdered child buried behind a pile of tarps and pallets, who was out in the desert teaching kids how to shoot up american schools?
ReplyDeletei believe they let him out on probation and got rid of the evidence with bulldozers, since his father was a 9-11 terrorist.
One of the 9/11 terrorist trained near my town at a local airport
ReplyDeleteLolla used to be my happy place. I loved it. It was full of happy and easygoing stoners. There was once an older man who collapsed from heat exhaustion (the CamelBak stations had run out of water) and complete strangers rushed to his side, gave him their water, and carried him to the first aid tent. Now it’s all bro-ey narcissistic rich boys who spend their time trying to put their hands under the skirts of the girls in front of them. It’s disgusting and I honestly don’t think I’ll ever go back. I think a lot of it may have to do with the switch in headliners - it used to be very rock/alternative focused and now it’s all about EDM and hip hop. No judgments against those genres, I like them both, but they attract a completely different crowd.
