By which, I mean, who exactly - the one I have in mind for the part?
He's a former child actor turned reporter then lawyer of this one kind (which is ironic, given his most high profile role) turned reporter again. Back in the day, he played the young likeness of an actor who recently lost his agent. For allegations of misconduct? Nope. For his words/views - especially on this one platform.
The movie, in the director's preferred form, is considered a classic - one of the better flicks of its genre. The domestically released version is a mess, and was a critical and box office failure.
When I first saw it, way back when, I was really taken by the performances, including by the young actors who played the leads as teens. He in particular - and I mean this in the best possible way - has the eyes of the devil.

James woods I believe is the actor who was dumped by his agent.
ReplyDeleteMovie I believe is once upon a time in America. Rusty Jacobs for the actor. Not sure how this all fits.
DeleteOnce Upon a Time in America is my favourite film of all time. Ennio Morricone's music for the film still makes me cry. The 4 hour version. It's just amazing and over-looked.
DeleteNoodles and cock eye 😊 Everyone should watch it and listen to Deborah's Theme.
DeleteThis doesnt even sound like a db blind, but for once a "normal" blind. Im impressed.

DB wants Rusty Jacobs to play a role in his movie. I dont get the "devil eye" reference in regard to rusty though.

Not sure if this is relevant, but here is a quote from Once Upon a Time in America, Starring Rusty Jacob's
DeleteYoung Deborah : [to Noodles, reading the Torah] "My beloved is white and ruddy. His skin is as the most fine gold. His cheeks are as a bed of spices." Even though he hasn't washed since last December. "His eyes are as the eyes of doves. His body is as bright ivory. His legs are as pillars of marble." In pants so dirty they stand by themselves. "He is altogether lovable." But he'll always be a two-bit punk... so he'll never be my beloved. What a shame.
You're bringing it all back....
DeleteBrian Bloom who played Patsy, in once Upon A Time in America has been said to have the devils eyes. Google him and check it out lol. Also worth noting, OUaTiA was originally intended to be a 6 hour, 2 part film.
ReplyDeleteNice find Bonby,
DeleteI assumed DB was only referring to two people, but maybe we're missing context. The blind does start as if it's cut from something else.
He really does have captivating eyes

ReplyDeleteLOL I remember Brian Bloom from a soap opera long, long ago. I believe his love interest was the character played by Julianne Moore.
ReplyDeleteDidn't he play a character named Rusty?
DeleteNo, Dusty. Dusty Donovan. As the World Turns.
DeleteOh gosh, I used to buy tiger beat magazine just to get pictures of Brian Bloom. Those eyes! He went quite bald early on. Nothing against baldness, just didnt look good on him.
ReplyDeleteRonan Farrow
ReplyDeleteRonan Farrow has never been an actor.
