This foreign born A list director who is an Academy Award winner/nominee is trying to head off a MeToo event with his latest actions. He says he couldn't do two things at once.
Think maybe the blockbuster new M:I has the Broccolis worried about Boyle being too cerebral and they're ditching Boyle for a more action-oriented take. But that's just a total stab in the dark, I have no real idea.
If the Bond franchise is going to need a non #MeToo type director, they may have their work cut out for them.
Michael Bay should really direct a James Bond movie. After all, he's one of the few Hollywood directors who's not a pussy. Because Bond needs a director with balls to understand the character. And he could get a chance to metoo the bond girls.
The Daily Telegraph, which is not a tabloid, has explained that Boyle left due to a dispute with Craig (and Barbara Broccoli) about the guy who was to play the lead villain and the production team he was putting together, without the usual Bond veterans.
As these decisions are taken in London, I have no doubts that the Telegraph has better inside sources than this site.
The name Broccoli always makes me laugh, Barbara Broccoli in particular. I knew of a kid whose last name was Sprout, and his parents named him Russell! True story.
Danny Boyle
ReplyDeleteDanny Boyle
ReplyDeleteThreesomes must be out for Danny Boy then.
ReplyDeleteAnything worth doing is worth doing well. :)
DeleteThat explains the creative differences on Bond
ReplyDeleteYup. Danny Boyle. I knew something was up when I read he will no longer direct Bond films because of "creative differences."
ReplyDeleteWe here at CDaN know exactly what "creative differences" really means.
I knew enty would have a theory on BondFired, but this one lacks imagination.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what kind of MeToo event he's trying to avoid.
ReplyDeleteProbably Boyle, but I'm also going to throw out Denis Villeneuve, who is rumored to have said "no" to Bond because he's too busy with Dune.
ReplyDeleteWow, I hope that's not the reason.
