I haven't had one in years, since the only 7-11 near me does a poor job of maintaining their machines. At least half the flavors are on blinking red whenever I go in.
Does anyone remember when Slurpees were better, more icy with syrup so at the end it was just shaved ice at the bottom instead of the uniform slush they have now?
I spent most of my youth claiming to prefer Icees, and would only get Icees instead of Slurpees. I barely found out a few years ago that they're the exact same thing, made by the same company. I was shocked. Still, something about the red and blue cup makes it taste better in my mind.
I've not had a Slurpee in several decades, but I've had one. I never liked them all that much, and I don't like "brain freezes," which is what they were good at.
@CrazyflyinMunkey They still have Slush Puppies @ the independently owned Convenience stores here in Oklahoma
I used to LOVE 7-11 ICEES so much, that I would pull the grass that grew along the chain link fence (this was before before weed eaters).
My ”payment” was a Lg ICEE & one apple flavored wrapped bubble gum, cost? .25 for both! To be fair, I was bored & my mom would buy me a Small/Med Icee @ least 4X a week.
I remember small icees were .5, med .10 & Lg.15 then INFLATION hit! Small went to .10, Med .15 & Lg .25
Does anyone remember DQ’s “Misty”-their crappy version of sleet like ice & flavorings?
Not since I stopped doing sugar drinks, but I'm sure missing my free one today because the heat index was 100 about 2 hours ago here.
ReplyDeleteIs this a euphemism enty? Can if so....I think so.
ReplyDeleteI have not. Have also never had a box of macaroni & cheese, which makes me unique in Canada as it's basically a food group here.
ReplyDeleteThere are no 7 Elevens around here
ReplyDeleteWhat's a Slurpee?

ReplyDeleteIf it's not a sexual thing then the answer is definitely no.
ReplyDeleteI have not had a slurpee, because they look like frozen toxic waste with a straw, and ♪ I can't go for that, no-uh, no can do ♫
ReplyDeleteIf you have had young children, you have at least tasted a Slurpee.
ReplyDelete(The ice usually melts before the sugary drink is gone.)
Fun Fact: Years and years ago, I helped Slurpee find a Las Vegas Warehouse for
their distribution center. It was a small 1,000 SF WH.
@Neal and you didn't call it Kraft Dinner. Wow!

ReplyDeleteFfs slush puppies. Wth is a slish
DeleteIn honor of 7/11 free slurpees at 7 11 today. At least where I live.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I must have had one in my life, but I honestly can't remember it.
ReplyDelete7-11 used to sell sugar-free Diet Coke slurpees. I shudder to think what was in them but boy, they were good in hot, humid Florida summers.
