Backpage doesn't exist any longer which must make things tough for this foreign born B+ list actor who is an Emmy nominee/winner and a Grammy winner/nominee. He once starred in a very hit show that is set to have a reboot. One person who is not thrilled with the reboot is his wife. She knows about the strip clubs and that particular stripper he has a fondness for. When that stripper is not working he doesn't have any problems with a replacement though. Things are so bad that when he tours, his wife goes or else she thinks he won't ever come back home. She is convinced he will just run off with whatever stripper catches his fancy in some town.
The strippers are one thing, but lately he has set his eyes on a co-star from a television show in which he stars. Apparently the co-star landed a movie so our actor called in every favor he could to land a part in the movie as her lover. He couldn't stand the thought of her having a sex scene with someone other than him.
This one has the wife super worried. The strippers are one thing, but the young beautiful actress she really thinks is someone the husband would dump her for.

The show reboot hints that it is someone from Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
ReplyDeleteDavid Boreanez?

DeleteWe think alike LadySabreX
ReplyDeleteBoreanez is American born and does he have a grammy nom?
ReplyDeleteJessica Pare for his co-star he's chasing?
ReplyDeleteI don't think Boreanaz has a Grammy nom. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteJust checked imdb- no grammy nod or nom.
ReplyDeleteMissed that part went to the reboot.
ReplyDeleteKeith Urban?
ReplyDeleteThey just announced a Frasier reboot, but I can't think of any male from Frasier who would be foreign born, and a B+
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was Kelsey Grammer because of that reboot. He was born in the Virgin Islands and he loves strippers.
DeleteThe horrible thing is how she is prevented somehow from divorcing him and getting on with her life.
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to throw out the name Anthony Stewart head
ReplyDeleteI looked he doesn't fit the awards part, I can't find any reboots with anyone who fits all 3 criteria or 4 looking at wife.
ReplyDeleteThis is a touring musician... hmmm...
ReplyDeleteTony Head doesn't have any Emmy or Grammy nominations.
ReplyDeleteI'm just curious as to what people are doing now that Backpage and CL personals are gone.
ReplyDeleteThe reboot sounds like the perfect way to sh!t all over the Buffy legacy, good luck with all that.
ReplyDelete@Liz, somehow I'm not thinking "changing their ways" ;)
ReplyDeleteIs LL Cool J married?
ReplyDeleteJulian McMahon from Charmed? Or is he not a musician?
ReplyDeleteA touring musician who currently stars in a show and once starred in a big hit show that's being reboot?
ReplyDeleteJulian McMahon/Virginia Gardner-Runaways is show and Monster party the film
ReplyDeleteNot sure he was nommed for Grammy though?
DeleteMcMahon - no Grammy. Donald Glover/Childish Gambino has Emmy/Grammy noms, but not foreign born, nor any reboot.
ReplyDeleteThink LL Cool J guess may be right as read there wS a SWAT every reboot in the works as of last year. He fits and is married
ReplyDeleteLL was born on Long Island so not foreign born

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that this may not be a musician, but rather a comic actor who also tours as a comedian. Haven't landed on one yet, but just throwing it out there.
ReplyDeleteI want to make Rick Springfield work. Reboot?
ReplyDeleteJemaine Clement?? Flight of the Conchords. Now on Legion. Aubrey plaza for the costar
ReplyDeleteFlight of the Concords is rebooting, isn't it?
ReplyDelete@MDAnderson please, no! Not him! I'll believe anything about any celeb, but I want him and Brett to stay pure.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Sandybrook, I'd love the name of your plastic surgeon. I think you look fabulous. 40 years younger, at least.

ReplyDeleteis Nip/Tuck getting a reboot?
ReplyDelete@MDAnderson for the win
ReplyDeleteJemaine Clement
Foreign born
Hit series being rebooted: Flight of the Conchords
FOC touring currently (concert special just announced for HBO)
7-time Emmy nominee
Grammy-award winner
Series currently filming: What We Do in the Shadows
@MDAnderson
ReplyDeleteI think it's Bret McKenzie. Backpage King could be a play on Boom King which is what he calls himself.
Jemaine and Aubrey were in an movie earlier this year https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6518270/
ReplyDeleteBut I really hope it's not him
Since I have no personal horse in this race, I do hope it's him. They would be my favourite celebrity couple ever.
DeleteGrammar was my first thought too but the awards didn't fit plus I consider him higher than B
ReplyDeleteJackie van Beek the actress, new movie that Jemaine and she are in is Breaker Upperers. Good work, MDAnderson!
ReplyDelete@gadfly, JVB is 42, compared to Jemaine's 44, not totally "younger" actress
ReplyDeleteThe Clement guess does meet a lot of the criteria, but I just can't see anyone calling FOC a "very hit show".
ReplyDeleteAh bonehead me missed FOREIGN BORN. Was on my cell phone in line at the DMV ugh.
ReplyDeleteFOTC had high ratings. I don't think the woman is Jackie van Beek. Funny lady but not exactly young or beautiful.
ReplyDelete@wayj, true.
ReplyDeleteNatasia Demetriou stars with Clement in both the series What We Do in the Shadows and a film in production, The Festival...
ReplyDeleteIn no way was FOC a very hit show.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Jemaine fits in every other way, with Aubrey as the TV/ movie costar.
Disappointing that he's such a cheater.
Jemaine Clement ticks all of the boxes -- hit tv show that's rebooting, he "tours", has grammies, was in a recent tv show, and has an upcoming movie, "The Festival". The only show collaboration I can find between Jemaine and one of the actresses in "The Festival" is an episode of "Inside Amy Schumer" called "Psychopath Test". Claudia O'Doherty was a writer on that.
ReplyDeleteAlthough.
ReplyDeleteFlight of the Concords might have been a huge hit down under. So, sure. It's gotta be him.
If you loved it, "Flight of the Conchords" was huge. I have one of their songs on my phone, "Tears of a Rapper" (aka "Hurt Feelings). THE BEST!

"What We Do In The Shadows" was alright. I mean in an, "it's 1am, I'm stoned and nothing else is on" kinda way.
ReplyDeleteHa ha. Perfect.
DeleteOops, good catch, autohitter. So there we go.
ReplyDelete@just sayin' the day after my birthday is not my birthday, mum.
ReplyDeleteFOC is one of the most iconic shows of the naughties, it really defines the era. Maybe you have to be of a certain generation, but this was THE show of the time.
ReplyDeleteWhy is everyone so sure it's not Bret? It could just as easily be the Boom King.
ReplyDelete+1 sharper teeth! And have you ever been told that you look like a llama, lol, which Jemaine sort of does.
ReplyDeleteSteven Van Zandt?
ReplyDeleteIt's not Bret, because he doesn't have a current TV series or any recent movies, let alone starring the same actress.
ReplyDeleteBut it still is likely a reference to the duo.
@gauloise All of that may be true, but that doesn't make it a hit. And certainly not a "very hit". While this blind may very well be about Jemaine Clement, here's some data regarding the historical ratings of FOTC.
ReplyDeleteThe viewership for HBOs original series in 2009 shows FOTC in dead last.
"True Blood" (5.003 million)
"Hung" (3.617 million)
"Entourage"(3.460 million)
"Big Love" (2.320 million)
"Curb Your Enthusiasm" (1.518 million)
"The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" (1.268 million)
"Bored to Death" (0.948 million)
"Eastbound & Down" (0.925 million)
"Flight of the Conchords" (0.847 million)
Of 64 cable series tracked in the linked article, FOTC finished 60th.

Every clue fits Jemaine Clement, aside from the subjective descriptor of "huge". I'm gonna guess it's because Enty's a huge fan of the show, which reaffirms my impression that he's got great taste.
ReplyDeleteIt’s definitely a cult hit
ReplyDeleteIf it's Jemaine, I'm brokenhearted.
ReplyDeleteCarol Brown

No wonder Carol Brown took a bus out of town. smh
ReplyDeleteConchords, Jeesus, could they rip off The Mighty Boosh any more?
