Apparently the cocaine budget was more than the music video budget for this foreign born A list rapper and this female A list singer.

Does anyone watch actually music videos anymore?
ReplyDeleteYes on YouTube. Hundreds of millions of views on some.
DeleteThere are still a few people using music videos to tell stories, and making some real art. Manchester Orchestra's "Simple Math" gave me chills, and I kept getting more from it on several re-viewings.
ReplyDeleteBut for the most part, no, I don't think people watch them. We listen to songs on sites like YouTube, while the video streams pointlessly to no one.
Nah nobody at all that's why new view records get set all the time. Nobody watches MTV and stuff anymore but the most viewed videos on youtube are music videos. A lot of the views probably come from people just listening to the song for free but having a good music video helps.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty much every 80's video.
ReplyDelete@Thonker, yeah videos where it's just the album cover and the song playing get lots of views too, are people just sitting there, staring at the image?
ReplyDelete@Cail, yeah some people make great videos, like mini movies or thought provoking. Sometimes I didn't even like the song that much until the video made me think of it in a different way. I would never have imagined Grande's One Last Time as a theme song to a meteor apocalypse but damn it worked great.
How much is coke these days and how much does a video cost these days? All I can imagine is that it's just like that scene from Boogie Nights where the two ladies are doing lines and talking non stop. No thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes, people watch videos, they watch them on YouTube, not MTV. I know teens who watch YouTube more than they watch TV.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess we can kiss off hoping Ariana matured after her Manchester incident.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I don't really like her, the Manchester bombing was actually really traumatic for Ariana so the heavy drug use/nose-diving into 'serious' relationships are probably her way of coping. She needs a lot of help and she needs it soon.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more.
DeleteAnd who is stopping her from getting help? She has the money, means and opportunity! At some point you have to be responsible for your own actions!
ReplyDeletetotally agree
DeleteIn Europe music video channels are still huge. There are loads of them
ReplyDeleteAriana was partying hard LONG before Manchester ever happened. Stop making excuses for her.
ReplyDeleteDoes she really do drugs?
DeleteDoes anyone know what the lollipop is about?
ReplyDeleteNot making excuses. As I said, I don't care about her career but she has the weight of a fucking BOMBING on her shoulders which she does unnecessarily fee guilty for.
ReplyDeleteWhether you were in it or not, a terrorist bombing is going to fuck you up.
Also, please stop saying incident or whatever. It was a terrorist attack.
