ReplyDeleteI don't blame her. You should never let girlfriends into the relationship of a child unless there is a commitment of marriage or long-term cohabitation. It's bad for the kids. I don't blame her one bit.

ReplyDeleteGarner is a smart cookie and Shookus is in her cross hairs. It'll be fun to watch this game play out. Ben's buddies, Damon, Kimmel and... does he have any more???? have all shunted sideways and are playing 'happy monogamous husband', so they don't get hit by the shit. But Garner knows who knew.... (cue creepy Misery music and put on the popcorn)

ReplyDelete@ Loolooeasy. It's called protecting your kids. My friends who are divorced have their lawyers decree that background checks and certain types of people cannot be around their minor kids. She does not give a crap about who Ben is fucking.

ReplyDeleteI'm conflicted. I've been on the receiving end of a jealous, controlling ex. Character assassination, portrayals of martyrdom. Brainwashing the child, attempts to manipulate the courts which almost led to her losing custody. Granted, Ben has severe addictions that are being enabled by this girlfriend. But I have strong suspicions that Ben never really did love Jen. The relationship strikes me as always being lopsided. Jen is fighting a losing battle with controlling his behavior. He seemed miserable with her. My husband was miserable and the more controlling his ex-wife became during their very short courtship and short marriage the more uncontrollable he became. Toxic.
