Blind Item #6
This would make at least the third athlete from this particular team from a Summer Olympics sport that no longer wants to participate in the sport because they know they are addicted to opioids and would never pass a drug test and have no desire to compete again. This one is not alliterate and has arguably been in the news more than any other team member.
Guess this is about LeBron skipping the USA mini camp

Swimming.
ReplyDeleteThere’s a pretty long list.
Is this about the Jamaican bobsled team again? I knew Betty White was going to lure them done the wrong path...
ReplyDelete@J F-- I choked on my Takis and Pepsi reading that.
ReplyDeleteThat Betty White-- she's a shady broad.
I’m going with gymnastics- McKayla Maroney for the Alliterate.
ReplyDeleteSteph Curry skipped the Team camp as well. Not sure about the Opioid addiction reference though. Do they take them ..yes. Addicted? No. You can't play basketball on opioids. You need 2-3 days off of them before your head is right. May be another sport.
ReplyDeleteAli Raisman.
ReplyDeleteIf they no longer want to participate IN THE SPORT it's not an NBA player and the sport isn't basketball. It's probably swimming or cycling or gymnastics.
ReplyDeleteThe way the blind reads (to me, at least) it is a team sport....which would leave out swimming, track, gymnastics, etc.
ReplyDeleteIf basketball is out, then what's left? Soccer, volleyball, beach volleyball, water polo, team handball, baseball, field hockey, rugby, sailing, rowing, etc.
Lochte
ReplyDeleteIt is skiing. I know of one Olympic skier who is on permanent disability and had suffered over a hundred injuries from the training and competition in Winter Olympics - late 90s till early 00’s.
ReplyDeleteOpioids were prescribed like candy, and they would compete with broken bones.

ReplyDeleteLebron is skipping summer camp because he has a broken hand and he has a new team to manage.
ReplyDeleteThis is gymnastics, but I think the reason a lot of them are not returning has more to do with them being in litigation with the USA Gymnastics Association than supposed drug addictions. I will be surprised if USA Gymnastics ever recovers from the Nassar case.
@Neil - actually gymnastics and swimming is both individual and team, actually so is track and field if you figure in relay races. Not that I really care about anything Olympics related. Just didn't want that to throw anyone off.
ReplyDeleteBowling.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Curling. All sorts of things can happen when there is a broom involved!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it means the team - the Fierce 5 or whatever they called themselves. Makayla being the first one and the alliterate one. Maybe Aly Raisman being the one who is in the news the most?
ReplyDeleteOr possibly the ones from the last olympics - the final 5. Simone Biles is in the news a lot I feel like, so is Laurie Martinez. I saw Laurie had gained some weight (doesn't look bad), so probably hasn't been training. She is the youngest one I think.
Aside from women's beach volleyball, it's really tough to give a sh!t about the summer olympics. Although the Olympic Village is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure someone as athletic as you has been in an Olympic village right pal? If you haven't been in one, STFU and stop wasting our time jackass.
ReplyDelete@Ragmar
ReplyDeleteThe carpal tunnel alone leads straight to oxy madness!
@Brayson
Shut your whore mouth! The Olympics rock, all of it. I'll watch a thousand North Korean cheerleaders for hours just for some speed skating action.
So speed skating is Summer Olympics now huh plot?
ReplyDeleteNo! But all the Olympics rock, even the NK cheerleaders and the weird speed skating events (and they are really weird.)
ReplyDeleteLocate?
