One of the few A list members of royalty based in this country says that an impasse has been broken and that she is now receiving a much larger allowance. She said this as she picked up the check (which she never ever ever does) at dinner and said her cousin personally takes care of her now out of a "special fund."
Lady Victoria Hervey?
ReplyDeleteA-list? She wishes, she’s so desperate she’ll show up to the opening of an envelope for the merest whiff of attention.
DeleteI’m confused as to who the alternatives would be, though. Maybe one of the York sisters? They do bits and pieces in New York?
Where is Princess Beatrice living these days?
ReplyDeleteBeatrice lives in Kensington Palace still I think. She is the most social one.
ReplyDeleteI think that's Princess Eugenie who lives in Kensington Palace. She and her fiancé Jack Brooksbank, the fishy-looking rich guy she appears to be sincerely in love with, just moved into Ivy Cottage there.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice apparently moved out of St. James' palace when Eugenie moved in with Jack.
According to some random article from March 2018 I found on the web, "The Duke of York reportedly currently forks out £20,000 a year of his own money for the pad in rent. But it’s thought that he won’t continue to fund the apartment, given that Beatrice spends much of her year in New York. The Princess works in business there."
So Beatrice, maybe. I can see William opening up the Royal Wallet so Bea doesn't have to do anything delclassé to fund her lifestyle.
Haven't Fergie and Prince Andrew been pushing for a bigger allowance for their daughters? I think the Queen has been firm about it, but Prince Charles is less strict. She might have let him make that decision.
ReplyDeleteI read it as “based on the US/this country “?
ReplyDeleteVictoria lives in LA. Not sure of cousin
Ah very clever catch Tricia
DeleteThanks @Elamina
DeletePrince Charles isn't less strict he wants to slim down the royal family. Andrew is supposedly the queens favourite but Philip is against giving them more.
ReplyDelete@Happy, yeah, Andrew wanted Bea and Eugenie to have a bigger role because they are the only "blood princesses" of their generation, since Anne and Edward decided not to have their daughters (or sons) have royal titles.
ReplyDeleteThe question is, are they up to all the hard work that comes with being a minor royal?
Princess Anne did something like 75 appearances during the first 100 days of 2018, and boring Edward did 59, followed by Charles at 52.
That's a lot of cutting ribbons, pulling tassels, and acting very very interested at a lot of poorly-organized community events.
Meghan Markle really should have done some more research before signing up for this.
Ducchess of Pork.
ReplyDeleteAnne's the only one worth anything.
ReplyDeleteCharles is the strict one who cut the salaries of Beatrice and Eugenie. Their dad still gives them some money but that's it. No cousin is helping them with anything if the girls refuse to do any of the royal charity work.
ReplyDelete@Krab
+1
What a quaint country - still using checks (cheques) - most of the world ditched them a decade ago (leave too much of a paper trail)
ReplyDeleteMost of the world ditched paying in restaurants a decade ago Sierra? That is shocking.
ReplyDeleteHey whatever it takes to keep them off yachts or reality shows.
ReplyDeleteLady Victoria Hervey isn't royalty.

ReplyDeleteI thought it meant
ReplyDeleteOne of the few A list members of royalty "based in this country" = based in the USA
Princess Beatrice of the UK. Her adult cousins are Prince William, Prince Harry, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips. I think the cousin taking care of her with his "special fund" is Prince William. No way would Markle let Harry splash the cash on someone other than her.
ReplyDeletePrincess Maria-Olympia of Greece lives in NY...she was studying at NYU. Isn't the Greek royal family distant cousins of the British royal family?
ReplyDeleteI don't know if we would call her A-list, but she's definitely one of the "It" royals of the 20-year old generation.
Victoria harvey is an aristo and a yachter, she is not Royalty. Windsors are the royal fam, not just any old titled person
ReplyDelete@Mischief
ReplyDeleteI think you have it. She is all in the news today for posting stuff on insta. She is always posting lavish photos on socials and getting blasted for it . She is A-list as her father would be King of Greece if they ever reinstate the monarchy and he is also a first cousin to the king of spain
Beatrice.
ReplyDeleteShe is educated. You would think the woman could work or accomplish something.
Oh, they could do things. They could be book editors, for instance. Jackie Kennedy did that. Turns out she was quite knowledgeable and good at the job.
ReplyDeleteBut I doubt either York girl has any serious qualifications, and they are now over 30, and unwilling to start at the bottom in some other job, learning and working the long hours. They want lots of time off to be seen.
It really isn't their fault that Grandpa Phil hates their mother. But either of them could have come to him and asked, humbly, for him to guide them. They didn't.
If this was Olympia of Greece then she has no cousin who would foot her bills and no need for it, her mother is the rich one in the family, heiress to a fortune (her grandfather owns a huge airport duty free shops business). The Danish crown prince is her 1st cousin but the Danish royals are not wealthy.
ReplyDeleteAs for the British Royals Charles is the one with money not William or Harry, Charles is the one who pays their bills (including their staff), the boys ended up with about £10 to 20million each from Diana which would not go far if they started spending it. William is notoriously tight fisted and neither prince is close to the Greek kids. Charles might be classed as a cousin to her but why would he be funding her when her mother is rich.
Neither William nor Harry would fund Bea, because they know Fergie would have a hand in the pie (she practically admitted to living off the girl's trust fund at one point) as I said they have a fixed income at the moment and Charles hates Andrew so much he would not lift a finger for them financially.

BS on this one, perhaps whoever this 'A list royal' is was just blagging. To make themselves appear more important and well conected then they are
