You might want to ask that college student who works at a restaurant halfway between her university and the home of this A list home improvement star what she does twice a week with that star in the office of a church located in the same city. Oh, or all the times she has sneaked him on campus to her room so his wife doesn't find out.

DeleteTheir show got cancelled and there was (allegedly) a huge marriage blowup just before the merch was to hit the stores. So they couldn't divorce because marketing.
Maybe the reason they are pushing Joanna more than Chip is because
1) there still might be shit to hit the fan so best not promote him too much
OR
2) Joanna is using the situation to her advantage. She knows divorce is inevitable and wants to come out of this as the bigger star. Also, more pictures of Chip = more college skanks chasing him.
I don't know how you sneak Chip Gaines anywhere in Texas, but the "restaurant" could be the new restaurant they opened. I hope not though. But you don't suddenly grow all that hair and a beard if everything is okay with you.

I also remember her talking about how she loved being pregnant (there are women like that).
Still I was surprised that she got pregnant with and I assume has given birth to their fifth child. Their oldest should be in his early teens now I think.

Anyway Tariq and Christina are plowing away with their "Flip or Flop" show. If what people are saying here is true about Chip maybe HGTV didn't want another similar situation?

ReplyDeleteHaving only seen two of their shows, Chip is smarter than he acts for the show, a whole lot smarter than Joanna. He's playing dumb and funny hick but it's a PR game to him. I saw all the telltale signs of a Southern bullshit artist about him (taken into account again, I've only seen two shows.) He picks up information quickly and uses it, which I suspect translates into learning his reality scripts fast, figuring out the implications and running with it. He really leaves Joanna in the dust. She seems confused by it all, and repetitive - "In my design business...."
Joanna might be the draw, but Chip has it figured out. He didn't give up that show without a fight (and it had nothing to do with that neglect of a wreath for a client as he stated.)
Something extremely unsavory must have happened to make them end the show and have another baby to secure the brand.
Chip and JoJo Gaines but if I want to make this interesting Ben and Erin Napier of Home Town (could also work). I think Chip Gaines is the kind of guy that has skeletons in his closet.
