Bobby Fischer the chess player. My school had so, so many famous people that went to it, but most of them are good famous. He was once as the world's best chess player, but he went off the rails.
I think the only famous people that went to my high school were Audrey and Judy Landers. One of them was on Dallas for a while. But I was friends in elementary school with Warren Zevon's cousin Jane. She was very proud of him. Nice girl.
My high school “takes the cake” when it comes to famous graduates. Some of them include: Neil Sedaka, Neil Diamond, Louis Gossett, Jr. Jeff Tambor, Buddy Rich, Leona Helmsley and probably a lot more I don’t know about.
Not famous but she’s the offspring of someone famous, Destiny Odom. She went to my high school for junior and senior year. It was horrible because all people tried to do was kiss her ass and she always walked around like she was better than everybody.
Knowing what Lamar Odom's issues are now, I wonder if his daughter just didn't speak to a lot of people/acted in a rude way because she didn't want to bring anyone home.
She did bring people home. I was in a friend group with two other girls, they kicked me out after they befriended Destiny they were excluding me from hanging out and were just acting very shady towards me. One of the girls was a long time friend from middle school and junior year is when things went totally left which was messed up because the summer before we started junior year I was helping her get over her “boyfriend” who treated her terribly... the “boyfriend” happened to be the ex of the other friend in the group so I was very surprised and upset when they pushed me out just to befriend a famous offspring. Anyways they would post pictures and videos from her house and when I would speak to my longtime friend from middle school she would tell me about them hanging out, going for dinner, etc.
Ha Dee you went to Lincoln my school Erasmus Hall beats you! We shared Neil Diamond, he went to mine and graduated yours. But Streisand and hundreds of others graduated from EH😎
As shitty as my hometown is now, the high school had exceptional arts and athletic programs. Many alumni have gone on to success and even fame. The crappy people most associated with the city weren't even from there.
He is not a big "name" to the general public; but he is well known in his genre. He only works in musical theatre. A brilliant dancer singer actor. He got a scholarship to Julliard , moved to NYC and absolutely dropped everyone. Even his younger sister , who i was good friends with.
She was a few years behind me, but hands down the worst famous person who not only went to my high school, but also one of my college alma maters, was Ashley (Ciminella) Judd.
Her air of pseudo-elitism and demand of attention was notorious even then. Best part was no matter how hard she tried to be THE queen bee, or tried to regale everyone with stories of her famous sister/mother and her own brushes with the Hollywood set (back when she was 13-14-15, telling them as a 17 year old), she was never given the key to the school, so to speak.
Then in college, after being brought down a few pegs in little town Kentucky during her high school career, she tried her damnedest to rule the roost at UK. Fittingly, she pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma/Beta Chi and got in - and as a gift to the entire house her mom bought all the girls brand new *real* cultured pearl necklaces with sapphire clasps. (My little's younger sister was in KKG and still has her strand.) She was absent a lot, off to France for modeling and was allowed to use her conversational/work-a-day French to count for course credit. Not normally a problem, but since when does foreign language count towards Applied Economics? SOMEone was buffaloed in the Provost office. She was smart - no doubt, but not a genius; she left before finals in her junior year.
Unfortunately, she came back - and made herself the center of attention again at every home UK basketball game (men's only, never girls). Last I heard, she is an ex-patriot now - having left the USA and has become a citizen of Great Britain. God save the Queen. I'm sure her grandma Polly is *so* proud of her.
Plus: she used to sign her name with a star instead of the A, and squiggled something that looked like an earthworm after it. Pretentious ho-bag.
No famous people went to it, but at my daughters elementary school (around 2003), while I was pta president, my treasurer made national news. Or rather her husband did. He was the catholic priest who stole tons of money from the catholic church in Fredericksburg, va. Of course, we didn't know she was married to a priest (neither did the church). They spent summers on vacation at their mansion in the Philippines. I was oh so thrilled with the fact that our treasurer was a liar and thief. Major audit. She was always very quiet and we were never invited to her house (now we know why). He went to jail and I think she took the kids back to their mansion in the Philippines.
Bonnie Lee Bakely, the murdered wife of Robert Blake. When I tried to tell a friend about her murder, she went on an endless tirade about how awful she was. She knew her well,I didn't. Then when I interrupted her to tell her,she said she didn't like to speak ill of the dead,but... This is why reasonable doubt kept Blake from being convicted.
olivia culpo. she was always the prettiest girl who everyone envied but she was nice and humble and had no idea she would ever be famous. Some people just get lucky, she truly is beautiful inside and out. Hate to admit it! ha :P
None, but Billy Crudup was a fraternity brother of my brother. And high school friends were at University with Sandra Bullock for a year before she became an actress.
Not me but hubby... Teeny weeny little Texas town outside San Antonio, Johnny Football Manziel... For a while they had a big sign that said, home of Johnny Manziel, until he started acting a fool, then they took it down
Best alumni Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20. He was in my sisters chorus class for a couple years. Great guy-was bullied horribly at our high school but came out on top. I love an underdog story! Worst would be Mandy Moore. Ugh! However I was long gone by the time she went to my school but I've heard a few horror stories about her.
Jason Sudeikis (Sorry to other notable alums, including: Paul Rudd, Jason Wiles, Steve Towle and Jason Wiles) was probably the worst, but in a good way.
Heather Locklear. She was a year ahead of my brother. She was apparently beautiful and nice during high school. Such a shame where she’s landed these days.
My school had 200 people in it lol, but Julia Michaels (the singer) is from a city about 30 minutes from me, I know someone who went to school with her. She's apparently super cool.
Do you people not know how to read? Few people have actually answered the question, while most either mentioned someone famous, but not necessarily bad, who went to their school or some famous person they randomly passed on the street one day
As I sat staring at my broken pencil, I said to myself “There’s just no point”.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I grew up in rural nowhere. Nobody of note went to my high school.

ReplyDeleteNot the worst, just the only one I remember: Rex Smith
ReplyDeleteI certainly wouldn't call Joe Kennedy the best, and I'm not a Republican.
ReplyDeleteThere was a memorable National Lampoon piece about Joe Kennedys sins devolved upon the sons some decades back.
DeleteKeifer Sutherland. Though he seems to be a bit more sane these days.
ReplyDeleteHeather Locklear. She was a year ahead of my brother. She was apparently beautiful and nice during high school. Such a shame where she’s landed these days.
