They released the album, but the record company realizes it is a dud and are just going through the motions when it comes to promoting it. This former A+ list singer just wouldn't listen to any input and it is a dud. She is probably going to be dropped from the label.

The 70k first week was better than expected tbh lol I expected some fergie double dutchess type sales. Hooray for ticket bundles. Still sad that a singer that made some amazing songs back then is releasing an album like this :/
ReplyDeleteGet her some decent songs because the girl can sing. Or start calling vegas home.
ReplyDeleteHonestly didn’t know she released an album😩 she should’ve humbled herself and asked for her job on The Voice back
ReplyDeleteMaura Johnson, reviewing for Spin Magazine, calls Christina's new album "powerful," and her best work in years.
ReplyDeleteHow about dropped from our collective consciousness entirely...
ReplyDeleteThe album got tons of positive reviews but so far none of the songs are really hitting.
ReplyDeleteAguilera's voice is emotional, accessible, a remarkable instrument.
"I Turn to You" and "Beautiful" are breathtaking ballads.
"Beautiful" had wonderful lyrics, empowering.
I believe she also wrote "Miss Independent".
It seems to me, Christina was on an important trajectory, writing/recording important music.
I wonder who derailed her? Could it be some patriarchal, misogynist music executive?
