Back in the day, this foreign born A+ list mostly movie actress who was a multiple Oscar winner/nominee who once starred in a movie everyone knows dumped her husband for another actor. Apparently the husband she dumped, who was an A+ list mostly movie actor too, played a victim card by saying his wife wanted too much sex. He never complained about too much sex when it came to that long running affair he had with another actor who also hosted his own television show back in the day.

ReplyDeleteI had read Danny Kaye was extremely mean. I grew up watching his movies and enjoyed him, but finding out he was an ahole was very disappointing.

ReplyDelete@rocky The reason George Carlin was always especially very good to his young fans is because when he was a kid, he was a big fan of Danny Kaye and approached him for an autograph. Kaye was very nasty to him and it really upset George. George's daughter Kelly was talking about this on one of the podcasts I listen to, Story Worthy or Gilbert Gottfried, I can't remember which. But the experience made a permanent impression on him.

ReplyDeleteI think I read in Shirley McClain's memoir that she also had an affair with Danny Kaye. I never could stand him. Not funny.
Danny and Larry would have been such a cute couple. And, I bet if Danny had been able to live his true life, he would not have been so mean. Life in the closet is miserable as hell.
