She really is a good actress and deserves that Oscar she has. This A list mostly movie actress, despite being the recipient of a lot of grief on the set of the movie she is promoting right now, says everything as hunky dory. She was singing a different tune during filming. Almost every other day or so.
?/Oceans 8?
ReplyDeleteRE: Cate B etc
@tricia yas anne hathaway
ReplyDeletehope u have a good weekend tricia lovely to see u :)
that movie does Not look good. im sick of us women just getting sloppy second remakes that suck (see: ghostbusters)
ReplyDeleteThank you you too@notthisagain:)
DeleteFeel free to write a script at any time.
DeleteGhostbusters dreck was co-written by a woman. Katie Dippold?
DeleteDon't understand why so many people dislike her. She seems alright to me.
ReplyDeletenotthisagain... no one is stopping women from writing killer new scripts.
ReplyDeleteIt came true... *looks at oscar*
ReplyDeleteI think people dislike her because of her embezzling ex fiance. Plus she doesn't seem like she's a nice person either see AnnE.
ReplyDeleteSo S.O.P for pretty much every actor on a difficult set then?
ReplyDelete@sandybrook Lol. She does come across as smug and pretentious sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if she's a good person or not, but I went to an early screen of "Les Miserables," and even while she was singing, people were gasping and when it was done somebody said "Wow," and the audience burst into spontaneous (if scattered) applause.
ReplyDeleteIt's really one of the most powerful, convincing, heart-rending five minutes of film you will ever see, particularly for a musical.
She might be a terrible narcissistic person and a complete phony (she usually seems that way in interviews, but after getting ambushed by Matt Lauer, can you blame her?), plus her husband is shady as all get out, but she is one of America's finest actresses.
Most recently, she was great in that monster movie I can't remember the name of, too (wait, was it "Colossal"?). Her performance was better than a lot of the women who got nominated for an Oscar this year.
The new "Ocean's" movie, though, is going to bomb. There is not a single person I know, man or woman, who is interested. If you thought "Solo" was a movie nobody was asking for.....
People stopped liking AH when she gave that dreadful Oscar speech. She was not being best.
ReplyDeleteWasn't there was a blind here a few months ago about Hathaway being very mean to restaurant staff?
ReplyDeleteShe comes across as too earnest & it strikes a disingenuous tone. She could be lovely in person but anxious in interviews.
ReplyDeleteI feel like media journalists are obsessed with constantly reminding her that she has haters. She's been talking about this for 5 years. It's like move on. So she's not great with speeches? Who cares. There's legit awful people in Hollywood who don't get flack for their awful demeanor.
ReplyDeleteIt must suck for the media to see Anne receiving all the praise for ocean's 8 early reactions. Glowing reviews for her performance.
ReplyDeleteNot seeing any coverage of the film itself, or the performances. Can you share a couple links, please?
ReplyDeleteCrow reboot with a female Crow, believe in it. It's about dealing with grief, sorrow, pain, loss, anger and vengeance. Heaven forbid we have a empowered female reboot that isn't a comedy.

Agreed. I haven't seen the movie, but the first time I saw a video of that performance on youtube I sat and sobbed. She was magnificent. Hell, I'm tearing up right now, just thinking of how wonderful that was.
The stuff about Anne H. is just plain women hating in general.
ReplyDeleteMost female actresses and celebrities get BASHED here, and elsewhere.
A lot of misogny out there.
DDonna- this is my first comment ever after lurking for 4 years, but your comment made me feel compelled to voice my agreement with you re: Hathaway's Les Miz performance.
ReplyDeleteHands down, it is one of the most well-deserved Supporting Actress Oscars ever awarded. Probably Top 3 in my book.
Dislike her for the most part, but she was an absolutely heartbreaking on-screen Fantine.
Wow, PPP, I'm flattered! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAnne Hathaway always surprises me as an actress. It seems she can do anything. I remember when she was cast as Catwoman and I groaned. Then the movie came out and she was fabulous. She OWNED that role as much as Heath Ledger did the Joker, albeit in a much different way.
Like I said, one of America's finest actresses.
Is it really important to be 'liked' by everyone?
ReplyDeleteJust do the work.
Joan Crawford and Bette Davis are proof of this.
Only a very weak woman goes thru life with the constant attitude, "Please like me."
