Blind Item #13

This permanent A list mostly movie actor is the front man for a new organization that will make films that show this religious cult in a positive light.

  2. Don't his movies all bomb these days, with his latest one getting a remarkable 0% critic score at Rotten Tomatoes? Seems like they'd want a frontman whose movies people *want* to see.

  3. Lmao why don’t these Scientology members realize nobody in Hollywood will ever take that “religion” seriously?!? That shit is literally a cult that forces you to pay millions to be a member. It’s crazy.

  4. What about Mel Gibson?

He's well in with the, alter boy touching, bead rattling, incense swingers.

  5. Moviepass invested in Gotti, and now they're forming a studio, Moviepass films. I haven't looked into it much but maybe there are Scio ties there?

  6. Tom Cruise or John Travolta or Ben Foster

  8. I wonder if they must be getting desperate- During the 80s they had Travolta and K.Alley bringing in bags of money for them, then they transitioned into Cruise in the 90s-aughts (and to a certain extent Will Smith). But they have no successor bringing that kind of bank (or hollywood prestige) into their coffers now. Where is their money going to come from? whose their next piggy bank?

  9. I don't see Tom Cruise doing this. He hasn't been seen with his bestie David Miscavage in a long time. Seems to be keeping his distance from all the hype around the "Aftermath" show. Sounds like Travolta, cuz Kelley is an "all in" $cio nutjob.

  10. Aren’t all Tom Cruise movies in the last 15 years just Scientology propaganda though?

  11. There is now a Scientology Channel on Directv. When I stream stuff, all the ads are for that channel. #cult

  12. @La-Juice, the cherch is worth 5 billion to date. And have millionaires and billionaires (whales) keeping it alive. Unless the feds finally go after them, they are here for the long haul.

  13. Roku has a $cientology channel.

  16. It might be fun to have your own religious cult. All the ceremonies, the outfits, the literature, etc. Of course most douchebags just use it to fulfill their adolescent fantasies, what a waste. The Braysonians would offer the good news of love and light and pizza Fridays and not sitting in the left lane. And Snuggies, definitely Snuggies.

  20. Cruise is a bit too smart to do this. I don't see this as Travolta either. Maybe someone from NXIVM or Hillsong.

  21. Travolta already did a $cio movie, it failed miserably.

    I think this is nxivm.

  22. OKAY PEOPLE, LISTEN UP! "Mostly" movie or TV in Enty-speak means nothing anymore. This can still be Tom Cruise, although it probably isn't. There was a time when OG Enty cared about getting this shit right. Then when the first NuEnty came along, he/she kept getting excoriated for saying "movie" actor/actress and then we all chimed in with "What about that one TV movie?" So it's all "mostly movie/TV" all the time now, so just GET OVER IT ALREADY!

  23. Scientology is a perverse joke even L. Ron Hubbard might be utterly embarrassed about. My ex's Dad was a famous Science Fiction contemporary of Hubbard and his Father used to tell stories about Hubbard trying to get them all to 'create a tax exempt religion" as that was how to get rich. Their founder spun sci fi STORIES and they take it as a religious guru? The whole thing is ridiculous and suspect. Especially expecting members to confess to their darkest thoughts and actions... then in turn 'blackmailing' celebrity and rich members with this very (taped) information.

  24. While I agree that Scientology is a terrible heap of crap and its eschatology and theology are cretinous, I've always understood one aspect of it that would be attractive to Hollywood stars; it's LA headquarters gave them a place where they could socialize with good looking women in a drug (and drug dealer) free environment. That could be pretty attractive if you were sick of the huslters and pimps trying to lead you into the world of drug addiction at every turn.

But the price was too high.

Seems to me that the Church of Latter Day Saints would cost a lot less and be a lot more relaxing environment to hang out in with all the same benefits. In fact I think there'd be a lot more and a lot hotter women there.

  25. The key here is 'new organization' that will show this religious cult in a favorable light. What new organization? Which cult?
Can't wait to see this one.
