ReplyDeleteHer go to is to bang an art house director to get a part that will have her under consideration for awards season. Keeps her profile up and lets her land big budget roles. Problem is that shit doesn't work any more. Hollywood A-listers now either have a franchise or they don't. You don't have a franchise you're fucked. J-Law had two franchise movie roles at one point. One of them died a natural death the other she gave increasingly half assed performances and thought she was too good for, fucking retarded. So she sucks this dude's cock, at best she gets a lead role in a 40 million movie and she grabs a nomination. Will that get her through the door with Marvel?

@plot,it is pretty much proven now that is what some directors do not just from Enty. JLaw had a reputation for playing along,once she was a big star,she had some power. She is doing exactly what I predicted she would do,but at least he brings out her acting skills,as opposed to Arononsky, who want s to take credit for someone's success, but no blame for failure.

ReplyDeleteAmerican Hustle was great. three kings. i heart hucklbees, The Fighter, Silver Lining Playbook...the guy wrote and directed these amazing stories. BUT, he is a sexual predator and a major league asshole to people that work for him. That's a negative. So it's a push.

Did someone say her acting in American Hustle was good? HA! It must have been the Weinstain on her neck that got her a good review, because she was awful.
ReplyDeleteYep, I think she's a hell of an actress. She, Amy and Elizabeth Rohm MADE American Hustle, while the boys yucked it up with each other trying to be cool. Russell is an overrated director for the most part. He's movies often descend into acting class camaraderie where all the boys are high-fiving each other. That's what American Hustle would have been without the actresses, who were paid a pittance compared to the actors who mostly congratulating each other on their nifty improvs.
