Blind Item #6

This movie director was threatened with being fired if he didn't defend and support this A+ list mostly movie actor even though the actor was in the wrong. This is going to be an awful movie.

How come that washed up aclie is still getting leading roles? He hasn't had a hit in forever and he's still making bank.

  3. I didn't find the blind but I stumbled across Tarantino defending Polanski, we can put him on the same plane with Roman.

"Tarantino said Polanski’s 13-year-old victim “wanted to have it and dated the guy.” "

  4. David Yates (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald) and Johnny Depp? I enjoyed the first movie when I saw it in theaters, but in retrospect, it's a disposable form of franchise extension.

  5. There was a big blow up on the set of FB this week (Depp attacked a crew member, according to Page 6), so it only makes sense that this would be Depp.

  6. The film is LAbryinth, with Brad Furman as the director.

  7. Why does Depp keep being cast? Because leading men can do anything they want and still be cast in HWood movies. For actresses, one sharp comment or an inconvenient wrinkle and she is dunzo.

    2. All Depp has to do is profess support for our President and all those times will dry up.

  8. The most shocking thing about this story is that someone thought it would be a good idea to re-make labyrinth with depp in the bowie role. Just hand out the razzies now.

  9. The film is not a remake of Bowie's "Labryinth" - this one (the title is "LAbryinth") is about the investigations into the murders of Biggie and Tupac. Depp plays a disgraced LA Detective who is trying to solve the murders.

Still, it is a disaster in the making.

  10. Longtime: It is not a remake of Bowie's Labyrinth. It is based on a book titled LAbyrinth, about Det. Russell Poole and the investigation of the murders of Biggie and Tupac and the possible involvement of LA cops.

  11. Can you fire a director after the movie is finished?

    1. Yeah. You can strip the credit, do reshoots and change the edits.

But this one is currently filming.

  13. @phillip I'm interested to see where they go with Beasts but I think they erred hiring Depp. I'd much rather see Farrell (he's no saint either) continue to play Grindelwald.

  14. Well Depp has the "disgraced" part of the role down. I really hope he gets it together because if he can get some sober and clean time under his belt he would be a decent guy. Seems like everything went downhill when he split with Vanessa Paradis.

    1. He is a decent guy, at least according to those that actually know him

  15. Depp is a star/massive x-factor. But in fact, he's not a very good actor.

    Personal life aside.
