It would probably be a good idea if this foreign born former A list syndicated actress would tell everyone she is being paid a huge sum of money from an industry to make the ads she says are a public service.
This is the first I've heard of "ride hailing," so I'm guessing this is a company like Uber trying to keep amateurs from cutting into their business? That would be rich. Anyway, sounds like First World Problems.
Girl in my neighborhood was raped by an Uber driver. In the burbs, not city. I wouldn't let anyone I care about in an Uber/Lyft car. It is one level above hitchhiking.
Hm -- Pam Anderson > Julian Assange > Trump team > Michael Cohen > investor in taxi medallions and income tax delinquent due to his losses thanks to > ride hailing. I'm sure it's just a coincidence they chose her as their front-woman, though.
You can request female drivers. There is also a female founded lift service. I love using uber or Lyft. I drive for my job and am looking forward to not driving. It's a good idea and better screening is needed.
I'm still #TeamTaxi. The concept of Uber/Lyft puzzles me - why would I get in a car with a stranger? At least we know that the cab drivers have been specifically licensed and that they report to a legit board. That's not to say they're great drivers, but I feel better knowing that there's some governance in place.
Uber and Lyft only exist because the job market keeps sliding further and further into the shitter, and as long as they're "employed" the numbers look fine. The whole point of the "gig economy" is slowly acclimating the workforce to a world without steady jobs, basic labor protection, and no workplace benefits. She can get a polonium dart for all I care about her role in nebulous international intrigue, but she's at the very least in the right on this one.

You beat me to it. The taxi industry in NYC is reeling from the effects of Uber and Lyft.

ReplyDeleteWhat Ad is Pammy pushing?
ReplyDeleteShe did aPSA against Ride Hailing (violating labor laws)
DeleteIt’s called Ride Responsibly. Not Hailing
Deletehttp://www.yourdictionary.com/ride-hailing-service
DeleteActually ,it’s not.
But your input is illuminating ,as always🙄
Ride Responsibly is the initiative, which is attacking the Ride Hailing and it’s breach of labor laws/and its execution of labor injustices

That's the best acting I've ever seen from Pamela Anderson, would have fit in a Westworld episode.
ReplyDeleteOh sh!t, one of her PSA's plays up the ride hailing drivers being rapists, they are not being subtle.

ReplyDelete@Cail, I think it's more like taxis and limo services against Uber and Lyft.
ReplyDeleteYep@Brayson
DeleteGood on her(take that money honey)
That is well done indeed.
ReplyDeleteBrayson is correct - the TLC - Taxi & Limousine Commission

ReplyDeletedo not uber unless you are armed, heck don't do anything unless you are armed especially females.
ReplyDeleteDitto that- I am always packing.

Do Pammy or her buddies invest in taxi medallions?

ReplyDelete(And no - I'm not Pam Anderson. Ha!)
I saw this elsewhere-
ReplyDelete1998:
-Don't get in strangers cars.
-Don't meet ppl from the internet.
2018-
-Literally summon strangers from the internet to get in their car
+200000
DeleteHaha I'd hate to see the comparison to Tinder-
ReplyDelete1998:
-Don't meet ppl from the internet.
2018:
-Go to houses of strangers from the internet and give them a trial bounce.
I mean honestly, even Domino's doesn't get to your house in 30min or less anymore but these lol
