Blind Item #18
Over the weekend, this married permanent A list mostly movie actress was supposed to go to an event Friday night with her kids but had to push it to Saturday night because she was late leaving her lover's house and got stuck in traffic.
Julia Roberts, Taylor Swift concert
ReplyDeleteI believe it. That traffic was no damn joke! Every road was blocked, every neighborhood street was blocked; we missed both openers and slipped in right as Taylor hit the stage. I don't think I'd ever go back to the Rose Bowl.
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy being a celebrity mommy, scheduling your career, your children's events, making time for friends, household shopping, getting bent over your lover's sofa, planning nutritious meals, working in date night with the hubby, it's really quite a circus.
ReplyDeleteLA traffic has sucked since the early 80's.
ReplyDeleteWe left in the mid 90's BC it was impossible to go 5 miles in less than 45 minutes.
Haven't been to LA lately.
So, I can just imagine LA traffic now.
BTW: Las Vegas traffic isn't all that bad.
(You just need to stay off the Strip!)
=)
Reese Witherspoon
ReplyDelete+1 on spoon.
ReplyDeleteWitherspoon was probably miserable not to be at Royal Wedding. ( "I want to be Kate's Best Friend!")
ReplyDeleteI was looking through the wedding photos again today and you know what? I was imagining all the H'wood folks who were furious not to get an invite. And you know what? Mizz Poon was the first I imagined being seriously irked to not be invited.
ReplyDeleteMy only other thought is what the hell was Oprah doing there? She entered like a doddering dowager, swaying in her seat because she wasn't the center of attention and by god she was going to be noticed. No man, no Gail, no close relationship with anyone there, riding the bus to the reception. Fucking weird.
Ah HA!
ReplyDeleteOprah is interviewing Doria in the UK. Still, weird that Oprah had a seat at the alter there.
Hollywierd celebs gotta stick together - since the duchess of sex - oops, sussex, wedged her foot in the door she's gotta be ready for the rest to social climb over to get snuggly with the RF. Ahhh, the little yachter that could...

ReplyDeleteI think Oprah was Dorias +1. Imagine being able to invite anyone in the world you admire to your daughters wedding, and they would happily come? They did meet for several hours a while back though I don't believe Oprah actually had any previous ties. I'd bet Doria is a big fan- as millions of others are.
Plus, Oprah is great for charity collaborations and publicity, especially if your area of interest is Africa.
@Sher
ReplyDeleteThat would make sense. Oprah might have given Doria confidence too, under the circumstances. She seemed so out of place though.
I didn't see a spot where the father would have been seated and wonder if Meghan ever planned on having him there.
Stating the obvious: Oprah was there because the first biracial woman was marrying into the (whiter than white) British Royal family. Of course she'd be there.
ReplyDeleteThey would have invited the Obamas, too, but they didn't want the wedding to become about politicians.
The only weird thing I witnessed, was Meghan's mother being left seated alone... A strange oversight.
Who else could Doria sit with, given the protocol of royal weddings? Her Ex? My heart went out to her during the ceremony. She looked terrified and overwhelmed at times, when she needn't be. She looked lovely and handled everything with such grace.
