Coincidentally (or not), a documentary about the making of Platoon - Brothers in Arms- just screened at Cannes. C. Recent pics of Johnny Depp on tour with the Hollywood Vampires show him looking happy, handsome and healthy: he just received great reviews for singing Heroes as a tribute to David Bowie.
Johnny popped into my head immediately too..can see him with a bandanna and this makes me very sad. Hoping and praying he gets help before he does kill himself or if it's not him, whoever it is. It's the mom in me, I want to save everyone and seeing what drugs are doing to our country not just the famous breaks my heart. I suppose it is unfair to focus just on Johnny. Personally I'd like to see a giant sinkhole appear under Hollywood and have the entire whorehouse of Weimar Republic era depravity disappear off the face of the earth for ever, and everyone that's in it. It stopped being a source of any artistic creativity a long time ago, like 1975 or so. It'll be like lancing an abcess.
What's more disturbing is how so many people believe whatever they read on the internet. Not everyone in Hollywood is a paedo, rapist, junkie or whore. Not everyone in the entertainment industry lives or works there either. The sad fact is there are paedos, rapists, junkies and whores everywhere. They're not restricted exclusively to Hollywood like it's some kind of Mordor for nonces.
