Someone gave me a restaurant.com coupon for 1\2 off once, I don't know if that's the same thing but I don't don't things like that usually. And I wouldn't buy it myself.
I got IPL facial treatments (lasers that zap off scars), which are always 75-85% off. You're supposed to get five to see the full effect, so instead of getting the cheap one and signing up full price for the rest, I got one super-discounted treatment at five different salons.
Only once, it was WAY worth it, last year our big Rock Festival in town (that had Soundgarden and The Pretty Reckless) was having issues selling tickets. Of course this was after I had already purchased mine for 150 bucks a piece.Anyway, they put the concert on Groupon for 1.00 for 2 days. again, to see things such as Soundgarden, The Offspring, Three Days Grace (one of my faves) Seether, Papa Roach, A Perfect Circle, Attila and Amon Amarth, the list goes on and on, 2 days full of music, Anyway, when the tickets went for 1.00 I bought 3 more, for my grandkids,(their names are Axel and Rose, and their mom) my son was already going. This way, she could bring them in for just a few hours, and no one felt they wasted tons of money, The kids loved it, But so yeah, it was worth it for the memories, they were 5 and 6 at the time.
I actually waited for a great groupon to appear, them posted it with me as a referral and earned $100 credit. You can only earn $100 max. Per account. I ended up with a free LG tablet and a lot of other stuff.
Yes I've used a Groupon, restaurant.com, a few others.
Using Chowhound & Yelp to help you narrow down which restaurants (for one example) are worth it is a good thing to get maximum value out of your deal. You'll know is food is good or off, service slow or rude, etc.
You still have to do some research / due diligence to see if it's worth participating but sometimes it is.
To elaborate: I keep an eye open for them for afternoon tea, which I love but is criminally overpriced.
I’ve also used them when money was short but we wanted to go do something fun.
They’re likewise fantastic when you want to try out something new and are open minded about what. We loved the traditional German restaurant we tried out and we had a blast going for ice cream at utterly random spots.
We recently bought a patio umbrella (10’!) on Groupon which was a steal and we love it.
All the time. I pair it with a site that always gives me like an additional 20% off the Groupon price AND then also get the cashback deal from Ebates. I got an amazing deal on my car starter. I've used them for several restaurants and have went back to them as well.
I love Groupons. I use them a lot for massages/facials, restaurants, and even hotels. But I totally rig the system by using the Groupons only and never going back to pay full price. I have used Groupons to book hotels that I like at cheap rates, but I never pay full price for hotel rooms anyway. (I have used the same hotels I got groupons on without using a Groupon, but in those cases I was just applying another type of discount.
What can I say, I'm cheap. Cheap Yuppie Mom, cheapyuppie.mom
Starbucks has $10 gift cards for $5 occasionally, and I will do that. Have done it for the local trampoline park for my daughter and for the local pizza place, which I go to anyways. Just bought 4 tickets to Rod Stewart in concert for my I laws, was a better price than elsewhere.
No. If I get gas on Wednesday, the car wash is $1. Got a facial once. Couldn't move my face for 24 hours. Acupncture would be worth it, if it's less than $50.
I watched a very sad porno last night. It was a real tear-jerker.
ReplyDeleteYeah me Tiffany Haddish, and the Smiths. I was Tiff's +1

ReplyDeleteI've bought a couple of pairs of shoes through Groupon...and yes, I'd use them again!
ReplyDeleteYeah. It was for an oil change. Unfortunately the groupon price didn’t include synthetic oil, not engines with a bigger capacity.
ReplyDeleteYes, bought it, not worth it but want to try once more for acupuncture.

ReplyDeleteHadish/Hadash means "new" in Tigrinya
ReplyDeleteI use them all the time to try different restaurants. And yes, have gone back to a number of the places.
ReplyDeleteFor food mostly. I do not use it as much as before. Some of the businesses are on the verge of Closing.

Used it once. One of those “drive a Ferrari for the day at a racetrack” deal. The vendor kept rescheduling our group so we all asked for refunds.
ReplyDeleteShe Ready.

Yes, a spa. Yes it was worth it. No I did not go back - too expensive without the groupon.
ReplyDeleteI think I have but it was so long ago I can't remember.
ReplyDeleteI hate Groupon. I’ve bought them and they expire too quickly.
ReplyDeleteYup I love using Groupon's for restaurants. Especially when my favorite restaurant comes up. For hibachi - amazing deals near me.
ReplyDeleteYep. I’ve used them, and all of them have been worth it so far.

Keep your eyes open and there are gems out there.
I buy lots of items from Groupon. Great deals. Pair it with Ebates and it is fantastic. Never restaurant or events though.

Can I redeem Groupons at strip clubs?
ReplyDeleteA couple of times, yes worth it, no never paid retail.
