This upcoming documentary on a permanent A+ list singer is just a money grab which directs blame away from the people who produced it to such an extent that nothing in the documentary is believable.
The Lowenstein documentary about Michael Hutchence? I hope this is not the case, because I am REALLY looking forward to it, but it was the first thing that popped in my head.
The Whitney biopic. If this were the Freddie Mercury one, which I agree is crap, we would have heard about this by now.
Sascha Baron Cohen claims one of the Queen band members stated the best part if the movie is when Freddie dies. I don't know who said it but my money is on Brian May.
Been over a month so sorry if it's strange to get a reply now, I've been going through the archive . What SBC said was that a member (possibly Brian May) that the best thing about the Queen story is that half way through it you have the death of Freddie Mercury, meaning that it's an epic, tragic event in the MIDDLE of the story of the band which they then to on to overcome in the rest of their tale. SBC was telling it as an amusing story about how deluded the surviving members of the band involved with the film are about what the audience wants to see in a biopic and why creative differences drove him out of the project. Who wants to see a film that's half about two middle-aged millionaires farting around the world with the singer from Free and making that dreadful musical We Will Rock You? I don't think there was any nefarious intent in what May said, just hubris . Never commented before but I thought it was worth clearing that up for several reasons. Cheers .
There was an EXCELLENT Whitney Houston documentary by the BBC I think a year or two ago, I think it was by Nick Broomfield (?). Anyhow I thought it was very good indeed, very insightful.
It's brilliant. Talks about the drugs/all the negative stuff yet you go away feeling terribly sad for Whitney and it confirms just how talented she was...made me cry. Done really well.
A biopic isn't a documentary so not Queen, and the Elvis documentary is already airing so not upcoming. This screams the Whitney thing, who had more money grabbing people in her life than she did?
The BBC documentary was a real insight. Very sad to learn how she wanted to stop performing but her money grabbing family wouldn’t let her. Didn’t realise she was supporting them. Her mum seemed jealous of her and her dad broke her heart when he sued her. She had a close female friend who actually cared for her and her family sent her away. No wonder she did the drugs to escape.
Chris Cornell. His money-grubbing in-laws may have been fewer in number, but I doubt anyone spent money as fast and furiously as his ex-wife. Two dozen Birkin bags? Get real. She is behind this, and behind her are the pizza lovers, only too happy to let her launder their cash. (Do I HAVE to say 'allegedly'? Oh, ok.) ALLEGEDLY.
I think digitalis refers to vicky K. There are very strong rumors that they were separated at the time of his death, it is a matter of time, this will be revealed. The mother-in-law spends her time on Instagram publishing shit about Chris's brother and his entire biological family. SHe tirelessly publishes the same wedding photos from 15 years ago to show that everything was perfect in their marriage. But she has no family photo of the period 2016- May 2017.
Please don't disillusion me about Michael Hutchence anymore. He is my late future ex-husband. Yes, it's all in my head, but my goodness that man was gorgeous!
I'll get the dartboard out.

ReplyDeleteThis is 100% the Whitney movie.
ReplyDeleteHer deadbeat relatives make me sick...

ReplyDeleteI worked with Whitney, via her label, right from the start.

ReplyDeleteI hope Whitney's lesbian girlfriend (Robyn Crawford) refused to participate, if this is the case. There's nothing worse than a puff piece documentary.

Definitely the new Whitney documentary. They can't even let this poor woman rest in peace now that she's dead. Will not watch.
