Blind Item #5

This foreign born A list dual threat actor's character is not going anywhere until the actor finishes making all the movies he is getting paid for.

  1. Idris Elba (Heimdall)?

  2. Maybe Martin Freeman can't quit Sherlock until he finishes his Black Panther commitments?

  3. Please don't spoil Infinity Wars for us, Enty!

  4. Yeah I was thinking Sherlock Holmes for this. Either guy might fit.

  5. This is the description for Benedict Cumberbatch.

  6. Hugh Jackman, Wolverine?

  7. Sherlock is television though, and this says movies?

  8. Tom Hiddleston as Loki? How many is he contracted for?

  9. I thought about Hiddleston, but I haven’t heard anything about him wanting out of his Loki contract.

Hemsworth, on the other hand, needed to be convinced to keep on with Thor, who he felt was becoming too one-note. Since the result was a fun shake up of the character in Ragnarok, I can’t complain. So maybe Hemsworth.

Or Evans. When is his contract up again?

    1. Scratch Evans obviously but I just realized this might have to do with the (spoiler?)

“Gut punch” ending being talked about for Infinity Wars, as in, we think someone is dead but the actor’s contract isn’t up.

  10. Well they both do movies and TV that's the dual threat here as Enty misuses the term. So one can't finish his obligation to one job until his movie obligations are done.

    1. @crazycatlady The ads and reloads got too much for me. I switched to the Duck Duck Go browser and now I don’t really see them.

  13. hemsworth has never been described as a dual threat, ever. the man can barely act/is one dimensional. it's between benedict cumberbatch or tom hiddleston.

    1. @nonya He started in TV. That counts in enty-land.

  14. Sebastian Stan/Bucky. Only does movies now but was known years ago for TV roles too, and he made headlines when he signed on for a 9 picture deal with Marvel.

  15. No Sherlock until Dr Strange is done...

  16. I'm going with one of the Toms (Hiddleston or Holland).

  17. I assume TH, since Loki is the character whose fate everyone is worried about. We already know Strange plays a major role in the next movie, so it doesn't make sense for the BI to be about him.

  18. Please be Tom Hiddleston's Loki. He is one of my crush's.

  19. C-Batch. Hiddleston is already B.

  20. Benedict or Sebastian Stan. Stan started in TV, there have been rumours that he has had some reliability issues, and was born in Romania.

  24. SPOILER ALERT to the handful of people who never read Infinity Quest and Infinity Guantlet (or read the spoilers) and/or haven't seen the movie...

Yes, Thanos succeeds in uniting all 6 stones and gets his "wish" to wipe out half of all life forms (sentient or otherwise in the comics, but seemingly only sentient life in the movie) granted. Also appeared to me he ended up trapped in the Soul gem given the orange tint/glow of that post finger snapping scene. That would be a good wink and nod to the comics as that is where the Surfer actually ended up when Thanos "disintegrated" him (and where he met up with Adam Warlock).

However, all that said, EVERYTHING GETS UNDONE as if it had never happened, which is what we can reasonably expect to happen in part 2. Certainly, some changes/reboots may conveniently use this event as an excuse, but none of the characters will remain dead.

I really wish they had used this event to give Spidey the black suit/symbiote that could subsequently tie into Venom...definitely a missed opportunity. And even though it's highly unlikely given principal shooting is complete, would be nice if they get the Fox deal done in time and are able to use FF/X-Men characters in part 2...if no one else, at the very least the Silver Surfer.
